Neither Brooks or Lowry are NBA starting points guards. It might not happen this summer but before the 2010 season we will have a true point guard and hopefully one of the best in the league. We'll have to see what Morey can do with McGrady's $20+ Million expiring contract next year.

I thought smoothie explained himself pretty well. Personally, I'm waiting until after the playoffs to decide how much I think resigning Ron is worth (resigning him is a no-brainer, IMO, if his contract demands are reasonable), and agree that while he can be bone-headed at times, he does provide some surprising assets to the team. His shooting from Downtown has been a big plus and he's much better at it than I thought he'd be. Artest is also a better passer than I expected and could be even better if he'd make fewer decisions to take matters in his own hands. I think he's improving in that regard. He's been a surprise with his demeanor on the court. Overall, a great pickup by the Rocks who should stay on after the season if we can afford him.

I'm also waiting until after the playoffs to make a judgement on AB as the starting point. While Lowry is more a pure point guard than Brooks, the combination is working out well with Kyle coming off the bench. I think the record certainly supports that. Both need experience and they're being tested now. Final exams are coming up fast.

I agree, Brooks has recently gotten a lot of undeserved hate on this board and probably elsewhere, but that's just the nature of these fan boards. Some posters log on just to write "Brooks f**kin sucks!" or "Another 0 assist game for coach's son!!!" and then they're gone until the next game. I don't know, I guess it helps them vent.

As others have said, Brooks is doing what's being asked of by Adelman. And in my opinion, the coach has done an excellent job with both Brooks and Lowry and getting the most out of their respective talents.

Throw in Rick Adleman! The most underrated coach in the history of the NBA.

I agree with what you are saying. Resigning Ron is a no brainer unless the price is just truly outragous. I think a lot of people don't realize where we would be if we didn't have Ron. They also need to realize that even if Tmac comes back, it won't be until well into the season next year. Therefore trying to replace Ron with someone else would be a whole new adjustment to the system and team chemistry.

Some people only see the flaws in the players that we have and not think about the fact that every player in the NBA has flaws. A team is one that works because they cover each other's flaws.

I would much rather go into the playoffs with AB and Lowery than Rafer and AB. Others can debate that, but for this season I think we made an improvement. Nevertheless, their final grade can't be given until we see how well this entire team does in the playoffs. The season was just warmups.

I don't see your point. Regardless of whether or not we have Kobe, he takes too many shots. Regardless of whether or not we have Lebron, he needs to work on his shooting...

All criticisms are deserved only if Rockets fails to advance 2nd round this year. I feel good with their strong play recently. I don't argue the nearly 70% winning percentage since Artest and Brooks playing a major role. I know both players have weakness but I concern more about the result.

    WELL SAID :D

PEOPLE hate too much....LOWRY AND BROOKS have had their share of good and bad games...and i think they are a good combo

as for Artest, we all know Artest is Artest and i like having him on the team...the players like him and he is still the force we have been mssing so i will take the good with the bad

Sure Artest gets selfish at times. But he's one of the reasons we're as good as we are this year. He can abuse players on the block, is a freaking great 3 point shooter this year, can still D, and always plays hard. He makes the 3s we wish Tmac and Rafer would have made consistently. He has the heart Tmac never had. Artest doesn't give up and that's huge. Though he can be a ballhog sometimes, I think Artest really believes in getting the ball to Yao when they're both in together.

The points about AB that have been brought up are really good: he's a 2nd year player, last 1st round pick, who is STARTING for a 2, 3, or 4 seed Western Conference team! With him, we need to remember his strengths and learn to cope with his weaknesses. His D may improve with more experience. Same goes for his passing. He's a pretty good 3 point shooter, can get by his man on offense, and has led the first team admirably since taking over the starting spot. Is he a true PG? Probably not now, but maybe he could become one. What really matters is our record with him starting and that's been pretty good. Also, 4 clutch FTs last night are another plus.

no one else other than Aaron and Ron would like to take the forced shots which are always made when the clock on board only has 2 or 3 seconds left.

Here's the great thing he's only 23 and will get better with playing time and teaching. He has always been a scorer. Sam Cassell wasn't a big assist guy but always hit a clutch shot. I like Aaron

Why the hell does Artest play like, (sometimes), he forgets he has teammates? He could be a true superstar if he just played a more TEAM game. But alas, you gotta take the bad with the good. Just like when we had Barkley - you can't can't just get the good parts. Terrell Owens is another guy like that, on the field he great, but you gotta take the bad too.
