Actually Alston hasn't sucked. He has been pretty consistent, the only one game that he played badly was the Toronto game. But then he's pretty much untouchable for us now -- you think your 80-point-scoring offense right now is bad? Try subtracting Rafer from that equation and watch your team get routed every blessed night.

Alston is decent- but definitely not going to be too much of a help in Play off situations. But I dare say he is the best we have had in that role. If we don't get Artest hope we can land a legit PG

Give it a rest. These guys are roll players being asked to carry a TMac - Yao/less team. And that is without many of the first rung roll guys.

    So, let's stay cool.
Let's give both of them all the time they require to be 100% before returning.
Let's hope for enough ping pong balls to get a difference maker.
Let's hope that Stro has some serious suitors bidding his value up.
Let's hope VSpan and Bad man have NBA game and can add quality depth for next year's squad.

Let's hope the play - offs start tomorrow so we can be through with this 'painful' season.

Our guys have been in every game, even w/o TMac and Yao (and others). They lose, but they're aren't getting blown out. So they don't suck, in fact I think they are exceeding their expectations. What would you expect?

How many teams could take away their 2 best players, then about 4 more of their next 8 best, leaving only 8 to play after signing 2, and then win? Let's be realistic.

I will reserve my judgement until I get to see him play with all our weapons on the court.

I agree, but we keep losing. There is a good number of members who want to get Artest, somehow, in order to save the season. Is that even possible now? Saving the season? I keep watching the games, and I keep trying to imagine a great run to the playoffs, when we have everyone playing that is injured. I even imagine some trade helping us to rescue our shot at the playoffs, but is that realistic?

I still have hope, but there isn't much left.

Exactly...this has been the silver lining for me all along. Given the current makeup of this team it is a wonder that they aren't getting blown out every night ... I can't even remember the last time they got blown out. And most of our key scorers are injured. I don't care if we don't make it to the playoffs this season ... when these guys come back, I want to see them whoop some serious NBA butt. Just for the hell of it.

BTW, wlecome to the board. I've noticed some of your posts. Either you've returned /w a new handle, are younger than you seem, or inexplicably have been able to ignore this forum for a long time. :)

march 20th the rockets must be 33-32 to have a chance that is the day we are playing for right now we must hit over.500 to have a chance to get out lakers and clippers at 7th and 8th spot.

FWIW...we were winning at over 70% for the last several months last year.

    If we were only healthy...

true, but he gets freakin results, on top of that, he's the exact mold without the dirtiness.

HARD NOSED D, plus good 3point shooter.

Option #3. :) Actually, option #2 might apply as well.

I heard about ClutchFans a few years ago but turned away the moment I heard you had to pay to register. Not my fault -- poor college student, last thing I needed was to be spending money on an online BBS. But I am an avid Rockets fan, I have some $$$ and I'm here now. :)

FWIW II - the Good Guys need 33 more W's to be a likely p/o team, as in a 33 - 13 finish, and that is over 70% and that does not allow for the present day health of this squad.

JVG needs to grow some hair so he can pull that out, too.

Mad Max was far crazier than Ron Artest.
Bring Ron Ron to the Rockets!

What Artest provides is an option when either Yao or T-Mac is out again.
