I have been looking around town to take some art classes, mostly ceramics and shop classes just for fun. I don't want to take the time and apply to Rice/UH/UST so I am looking at HCC, Glassel, and then small studios.

Have any of you guys taken courses at any of these places? Any recommendations?

Not to hijack your thread, but if anyone has a rec on a glass blowing class, I'd be interested to hear about it. Always wanted to try it.

Glassell is the best choice of what you listed. Generally very good all around. If ceramics you could also try the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft who have workshops and classes from time to time.

I haven't done it, but I hear that if you take art classes at jr colleges, it's cheaper than just going to art supply stores to buy supplies. (2nd hand knowledge)
