You don't want Arsenal following United's suit. It would be cruel to the players (München 58). Also after that tragedy United did not win the league for 26 years (not exactly dominance I would say) and they still have been the most popular team for all this time. Not to say they were not popular before the crash but I think that gained them a lot of sympathy.
Man utd are popular no doubt, but Arsenal and Liverpool are very popular in their own right. And don't forget about clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern, Juventus, and Inter. The Old Firm are also huge and both have supporter's clubs here in Houston.
I know that Celtic has supporters clubs in many cities. but I wonder if what makes terams "most popular" is actuall most recognised. also Man-u is in central Great Brittan, and they whoop on all the london teams. Arsenal as (one of) Londons teams really only gets support from the city. does the Us vs them work in Manchesters favor?? you know, an old coal mining town filled with heavy industry vs the London fancy pants
Hey DaDakota, I'm new at this, but I think they say 'Treble' over here (you ignorant American). And that's next on Arsene's list! (And since we came in second to ManU in the Premiership the last three years and had that terrible loss to the Kop last year in the FA Cup finals, we'll take the Double for now! )
