It is nice to see the Republican discreditation machine in action so weakly and badly in action. I am sure this tidbit came out of Rush or O'Liar or some other talking baboon trying (badly) to be all discreditacious.

I'm sure over on outer wignuttia within the next few days it will be pitched as a Scorpions-Hasselhoff collaboration tour where Barack happened to just be in the crowd.

Just for grins, can someone please tell me what "come together" means and how Obama is qualified to do that? The Democratic party has never been more divided. Working class whites despise Obama. Pakistan, China, and Mexico have already thrown barbs at him for his irresponsible comments. He's slurred the working class by claiming they 'cling to guns and religion'.

How again, does he 'bring people together'? This is just yet another fantasy claim in the hopey, magical, make happy neighborhood of make believe.

^ I don't think this thread title could have worked out worse for old Jorge. obama goes to Berlin, performs before huge, massive crowds of adoring fans, slaps around Bush's failed foreign policy and ideology to roaring approval - I would use the intertube cliche of Epic Fail - but this is literally off the charts.

Sam, as you have seen, Obama's lead in the polls has shrunk down to minimal, statistically insignificant levels... all of this despite it being an overwhelmingly favorably year to be a democrat running against a Republican. John Doe Democrat is beating Obama by 10-15 points in the polls right now. What is going on? These illusions of mob hysteria associated with mouthed speeches read from teleprompters at Obama rallies are pretty much all the guy's got.

Despite the media sploogefest for Obama's foreign vacation, he still can't open up a lead. Why is that? And rest assured, Sam, there are some important arrows in the quiver that have yet to be utilized.

Axelrod's media creation will see its bubble burst soon enough, friend.

Here's something rather hilarious and embarrassing for rightwingers - this is actually the standard discreditation tactic.

"It's not him, it was the band, a very popular ROCK AND ROLL band!"

Here is the same weak sauce being brought out in May for his 80,000 person rally in Portland:

    http://www.macsmind.com/wordpress/2008/05/20/about-that-huge-obama-rally-its-a-farse/

LMFAO - who was playing, wingnuts? Popular young people's bands? Like who? The BEACH BOYS? BILL HALEY AND TEH COMETS? DARN YOU WHIPPERSNAPPPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You seem quite self assured - therefore I offer you the opportunity to back your assuredness with the SamFisher Electoral Challenge. Rules are simple - Obama wins - you leave the D&D for 6 months. Obama does not win, I leave for 6 months.

    ACCEPT?

Sam, we've rehashed this ad nauseum and I will let you know my decision as the election gets closer. I'd like to see how a few things play out prior to accepting. Make no mistake, I fully expect McCain to win the position he so richly deserves.

So Sam, why can't Obama use the media sploogefest and favorable conditions to be a democrat to open up a lead? What's wrong with him? Is it his radical past, his uber liberal policy positions, his racist advisors, his foreign policy gaffes and naivete, his lack of any significant accomplishments, his lunatic wife who hates America, his corrupt Chicago dealings with convicts, his black separatist church? I'm having trouble pinpointing which reason is putting him 10-15% behind John Doe Democrat in the polls...

Face facts, without the monolithic black vote, he loses to Hillary. He didn't earn those votes, he inherited them.

As much as I dislike Obama, I don't think McCain has a slice chance beating him.

McCain of 08 is just like Kerry of 04. A dull, dull political figure who can't excite his base.

I am just hoping Obama can do a better job than Bush did. And stop raising the tax.

Isn't it just precious that Snobama decided to dress up and pretend he's JFK?

    McCain's response:
McCain told reporters that he’d loved to give a speech in Germany. “But I’d much prefer to do it as president of the United States rather than as a candidate for president.”

    Classic smackdown.

So while Obama is living in the Neighborhood of Make Believe and touring Europe, McCain is touring the Heartland, addressing economic issues of middle America. But Obama's foreign tour is all about making himself look popular -- even if it's not with American voters. It's all about vanity and image management, folks. Did you hear any substance today? No. Just a bunch of hopey make changey magical words...

McCain would love to give a speech in Germany, it's just that nobody would show up.

What's hilarious is that Dolly ran him off an oil rig so McCain talks to a handful of reporters at the "Sausage Haus" while Obama's in Berlin talking to 200,000.

    Quite the contrast.

I can't fathom how you can't be an American and not be joyous and proud of a speech like that. And I'm only halfway through it. And I'm not a U.S. citizen.
