cuz the American public can't get use to its witty sense of humor. Too bad its not F@#!@#!$ reality TV.

Honestly, this is embarassing when Shows like this get dropped.

When I heard this I thought it was a sure sign of the end of AD and I hope something changes soon but I just don't see it happening....

    Very sad, a great show

First, I love this show. L.O.V.E.

...but I actually thought the "twist" was pretty weak. I won't shed a tear when Charlize Theron's run on the show ends.

The Bateman ailment and the show's being cast aside for sweeps sounds like more than coincidence, but this is not an easy show to watch for casual viewers. I feel like anyone trying to start now HAS to go watch some or all of the first two seasons to appreciate all of the "inside" jokes. Heck, miss just an episode or two and it takes some catching up. Compare with other sitcoms which aren't as connected and I think I know the reason why this show has a hard time accumulating viewers.

As for FOX, other than cancelling Family Guy (my other favorite show), I was sick at them for giving up on Greg the Bunny so fast, too. blah!

Warren: What do humans see in these dogs, anyway? If I wanted someone to lick my face and poop on my lawn I'd get back together with Farrah Fawcett.

What's funny is Fox is bringing back The Simple Life. Since Paris and Nicole don't speak to each other, they're going to be filmed separately on the same tasks.

FOX cancelled the X-Files after one or two seaons, I forget, and then the angry fans got it reinstated. FOX is the dumbest network on TV. If Married with Children and the Simpsons hadn't come along, it probably would have flopped itself.

Or...I just saw the Black Friday ad for Best Buy. Season 1 and Season 2 are going to be on sale for $14.99....if you don't mind spending an entire morning in line.

As long as I'm out by 11:00am, I'm there. :D

So, do we have anything to backup what Da-Glyde heard? Where did you hear this?

this show was alright but nothing special. i never understood why it got all those awards when there were simply better comedies out there.

    Like what?

Maybe the show will go to HBO or something. God, this really blows.

Not sure why Fox is getting ripped this time around. 99% of the time they are to blame for some of the above mentioned cancellations. However, you can't fault them on this one. They gave it 3 years, about 2.5 years longer than any of the other big 3 networks would have done.

Please... AD was so good, its scary.

It wasn't a typical "sitcom", which is sadly what the majority of the american public has the short attnetion span to grasp.

If you look back on how they handled the show throughout the 3 years, they are every bit to blame.

First of all, during the 1st season (when it was at its critical "best"), they failed to properly promote the hell out of it (just look at what NBC is currently doing with My Name is Earl... that's what should have been done). I'm not suprised that it got low ratings the first year...it was a new show, without any hype... how the hell is somebody going to watch that.

The show had to win an emmy for Fox to even consider bringing it back. Then, once Fox realized that, "hey... this show might not be so bad", they started doing some decent campaigns... and the ratings increase for the second year reflected that. Unfortunately, Fox didn't consider it worthy of the hallowed 7:30 post-Simpsons time-slot (despite the fact that the Simpsons has gotten worse every year, and its viewership has done the same)... so they moved it to Monday (only after cancelling the season 2 episode order from 24 to 18... so they could start showing stacked).

Couple the fact that Fox had to suspend all its shows for baseball season, and its no suprise why it flopped there.

If NBC, ABC, or even HBO had this show... I guarantee you the ratings would have been better.

They should have put AD in syndication this year. If they would have done that I have no doubt it would have gotten a bigger following. I never started watching Seinfeld until it came on in syndication.

I think there's an FCC rule on the # of episodes you have to have before a show can be sold to run in syndication. AD wasn't there yet.

If it ever gets there, look out... it will be Family Guy all over again. Comedy Central will pick it up in a heartbeat.

There actually were episodes shown on Fox 26 in September at 11:30 for a couple of weeks.
