Wasn't it about 2 weeks ago when Tim Cowlishaw, who writes for the Dallas Morning News, picked the Rockets to win the West? He was almost laughed off the show by his peers, but he's not looking so foolish now...

Wilbon was actually giving us credit and usually does. He talked about how its unfair the way Mac is judged abd even said he's pulling for us.

Some quick stats on the Rockets 17-game winning streak that OBVIOUSLY have been looked over by the national media.

Over the winning streak the Rockets are averaging 102.5 PPG and giving up 89.9 PPG. They have also won by an average of 12.64 PPG over the streak. The Rockets have also won their last 8 games by double digits which includes games against NO, DEN, and DAL.

Seriously, that took me about 5-6 minutes to look up and calculate. If someone would do some research they would see the Rockets are not only winning, they are beating the crap out of teams. I know the Spurs are the team to beat but it would be nice for someone to look at the numbers or watch some games and see the Rockets are an excellent team.

did anybody watch 1st and 10? when asked if the streak was impressive, the new guy said the ONLY reason they won 17 in a row was because of their weak schedule. he said the only good teams we beat were the hornets and the cavs and the cavs may not even count. i turned off the tv after that i was so mad. i swear these people act like its EASY to win 17 straight. and yet if we win one more we will have won the 4th most in the HISTORY of the L. i dont think ive ever seen a team on this much of a roll get this little respect. sometimes it reminds me of yaos first year when but at least some people said he was gonna be good.

i was listening to the basketball jones and tas millis still thinks the rocks aren't gonna make the playoffs.

its all good though once we start beating some other teams the respect will come. scola and laundry are spectacular!

I honestly could care less about he number 1 seed right now...the Western Conference is so stacked from top to bottom that even a small losing streak can put you on the bubble. Look at the Mavs and the Suns right now. So, personally, I'd much rather put even more distance between us and that number 9 seed, who we are only 4 games ahead of in the loss column. This team is facing a tough part of the schedule right now, heading into the home stretch without one of our best players....so NOTHING should be taken for granted and NOTHING should be assumed, most of all a playoff spot that hasn't been locked down just yet.

So, I don't mind the Spurs losing so we can move higher in the standings...so long as the lose to anyone but the Nuggets.

The Spurs need to loose so that the Rockets will have a higher chance of catching them. Y :p

see your point but agree with peleincubus. aim for the top instead of worrying about the bottom.

They will not have their other Allstar (David West) either. It's Karma babe. First Dirk, now David.

I'll take it - I'm all for the win.

Frankly who cares if our schedule is soft or not? There's nothing in the record books that will say - oh, the Rockets 17 game win streak was against easy teams.

Ok...ya know what - most win streak that are longer then 10 games are mostly against easy teams because even great teams lose occassionally.

17 game winning streak is awesome in any book. But it doesn't make you a contender - just look at Dallas and Phoenix last year.

So let them say whatever - frankly in this world (or at least this country), you have to prove everything unless you are from LA or have to be the current winner which is SA.
