Watch what the front office does, ignore what they say.

which makes the decision to get rid of a coach with one of the best systems in the league whose players love playing for even more dumb. Also points toward les throwing a tantrum and getting rid of possibly the best coach he has had. Morey is too smart to pull something like this. So stupid.

Why is it morey's plan. Not his team. And he wasn't the one with the bad feelings towards Rick, or the one that had to be talked out of firing adleman earlier in the season. Nope, that was les.

Ya seriously. I love how everyone thinks this is some sort of grand scheme change as opposed to the reality: some r****d owner who knows nothing about basketball randomly firing a guy.

Sometimes things really are that simple.

Hehe. I don't think Booth is insane, though- at least he doesn't laugh insanely like Les A.

I think you're right that that's Morey's intention. But, unless he pulls off his home-run this offseason, I think the season will be a de-facto tank job. He'll shuffle the roster some more. The next coach will necessarily be less talented and less experienced. The team will have to get used to the new coach and learn a different system. Unless we get the superstar Morey's been promising, we will be worse next season than we were this season. Maybe not trailing the league, but not close to qualifying for the post-season either. I suppose you can call that sucking instead of tanking, but the results are the same.

Geez, we are not going to tank? Dang, it would be best if our team just doesn't show up to the games they are suppost to play. If they just stayed home and let the other teams win by default, we would be sure to get a high draft pick! I mean, why make basketball a sport? Doing your best, honor, dignity, and hard work, even if it means not winning, seems to not carry alot of weight these days. Winning means everything, even if it means cheating, tanking, etc... It's the way of the world. Man, I hate how people's values have changed nowdays. Glad I was raised old fashion.

Has there ever been an organization that openly spoke of tanking? Plenty of shown it on the court, but literally talk about it to the media in the offseason?

As JuanValdez said, if we don't get another major piece in the offseason, next year will be a de facto tank job. Especially if we move Scola and/or Martin. And to a lesser extent, let Hayes go. If we do that, we would literally suck badly without even having to try. We would also basically have gazillion capspace in 2012 without their salaries.

Next season is shaping up to be a tank job even without Morey trying, unless for some miraculous reason one of the top players in the NBA decided to force a trade here.
