If all you get to see is a TV screen then what's point of paying $29?

From the video and judging the distance, you can barely see the TV screen. For that kind money I could go to a sports bar watch it on a 70 inch plasma, buy a ton of beer, eat some wings and actually get to enjoy the game instead of hanging on for dear life to the railing if one is lucky enough to get there 5 hours before kickoff.

Gotta give credit to Palpatine for pulling ideas like this out of his ass and selling it to the "educated" crowd in Dallas! The man never disappoints with his ability to make money for absolutely nothing.

    Party Pass = Epic Fail!

You have to think that word has already gotten around that the party pass is a giant waste of money and people will stay home for the most part next time.

Plus the Cowboys will apparently start limiting SRO to the point where it is more managable for most people to have at least a view of the field.

They've been talking about the party pass mess on the sports radio up here. Apparently aside from the massive overcrowding there was also rampant fist fighting guys and dude, drunken folks passed out on the floor and other assorted goodness you associate with large drunken mobs. Report of goat have gone impregnation unverified.

But hey at least Skeletor got his biggest crowd record!

dude, you get to pay $8 for a beer, $9 for some nachos and you have the honor of being surrounded by thousands of other folks sporting Aikman jerseys and jorts...all for the price of an oil change

So you pay 30 bucks to stand in the stadium entrance and watch a big screen television?

Except the screen is so far away you can barely see it?
Except you are jammed in like a sardine?
Except you have to endure traffic hell to make the round trip home?

Yeah, I can see Dallas fans being dumb enough to fall for that scam.

the worst thing about the stadium is the parking. when i went to the titans-cowboys preseason game, we couldnt find any parking under $50.

overall, aside from the giant hd screens and the fact that there are sony lcd screens everywhere by the concession stands (and even one when you walk into the bathrooms), i didnt think the stadium was any better or worse than Reliant Stadium

i was interested in going to a game. now, not so much...especially after reading about how high the ticket prices are. a lot of season ticket holders in the old stadium who had been holders for decades bailed when they learned of the ridiculous prices on the new season ticket packages. they were pissed. i can't say i blame them. the downside to building the biggest stadium is now all the rich snobs can only afford to go to the games and the peasants get to stand. who wants to spend a thousand dollars to take a family of four to one football game? also, i'm sure the concession stand lines suck bad.

to those of you who are bashing this, it reeks of typical houston little sibling jealousy of dallas.

this was the first attempt at anything like it of that magnitude, of course there will be bugs.

most likely, less passes will be sold in the future, which will solve many issues. being at the game offers much more than just a mere glimpse of the worlds largest hd screen. you're surrounded by many other fans, and the atmosphere is much more like being at a college game.

i can see how the lower level ticket holders with seats would be annoyed by having to work their way through the crowds, and that will be ironed out.

as far as concession prices, i don't see these prices as being exorbitantly higher than other stadiums around the country.

so, i think most of you guys either hate it because you hate the cowboys, or because you hate dallas, or both. it's a phenomenal idea that will be copied by other stadiums in the future (the astros sell SRO tickets, and i've seen it 5-6 deep with no view of the field).

    stop being ignorant.

this was my view of the game

i parked for $12, in a rangers cash lot, about a mile away.

i don't mean to make jerry world sound like the be all, end all of stadiums... but the place is nice, and is getting undeservedly trashed.

Most of the "bashing" seems to center around the pricing to go there, or the party pass (again, the pricing to stand up and fight for space to watch a TV from far away).

NFL average ticket prices rise; thank the Dallas Cowboys

Going to an NFL game this year? Prepare to pay more.

The average price of an NFL ticket rose 4% this season to $75. The increase was fueled largely by the steep prices at the Cowboys' new stadium, Team Marketing Report's survey of NFL ticket prices said.

Dallas surpassed New England and now has the most expensive tickets in the league. They average $160, an increase of 90% from last season. Twenty-four teams kept their ticket prices stable.

The sticker shock doesn't end with the cost of tickets, however.

The Fan Cost Index -- what it takes to bring a family of four to a game -- is $759 in Dallas, by far the highest in the league. The Patriots check in with the second-highest FCI at $597, and the league average is $412.

    http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2009/09/nfl-average-ticket-prices-rise-thank-the-dallas-cowboys/1

FACTS for you "educated" folk in Dallas.

    1) 90% increase in avg price from last year.
    2) Cowboys AVG ticket price is 113% increase over league AVG.
    3) FCI is 84% higher than league AVG.
    4) FCI is 27% higher than 2nd highest New England.

On that last one, you would understand why New England charges such premium considering 3 Super bowls since 2000, 16-0 season, playoffs every year at the least.

Cowboys, well they couldn't even win a game at home with 105K fans cheering them.

Seriously do you think in this economic climate a middle class family can afford to drop $759 on a Cowboys game?

Jerry Jones created this for his class of people, the rich and affluent not the average folks. But to keep the peasantry happy he gave them the $29 spectacle of that monstrous TV screen to fixate on while standing with 30 thousand in line, wrestling for a chance to catch a glimpse of the actual playing field.

Its truly pathetic that you still wish to defend this kind of alienation of the fans that nurtured and supported the team from the beginning. Jerry got his day in the limelight on Sunday and displayed the grin of a con artist when it was made official that 105K was the largest attendance in NFL history. What seems to be forgotten, is that of those 105K, 30K were SOTs. Tell me, do you honestly believe the Cowboys had really planned to accommodate 30K people standing in relatively confined areas all at once?

Well enjoy your failed $1 billion wonderland and as for that attendance record, keep it framed cause that will never be reached again now that the public knows the horrors. Expect to see only a fraction of that size maybe 8000 attend a game from hereon. Jones wanted it that way, gave you the bait knowing full well that the record was what mattered the most. You see this was a clear attempt to one-up his rival Dan Snyder, the only other guy in the league with a the bigger johnson (92k at FedEx). So in short your fanbase was played like fools all in the name penis showing contest. Plaster that to your jumbo screen tv next time you watch a game!

One last thing, we Houstonians aren't even phased by your extravagant self indulgences let alone develop jealousy of your failed self proclaimed wonder. No we have better things to do like for example with the amount money you spent watching the Cowboys fail miserably, a Houstonian can do BOTH:

    1) Attend a more highly in demand venue like the one at Robertson Stadium on Saturday where you will see 30,000 people standing on their feet cheering their beloved Coogs, out of choice not because of necessity.

    2) With still plenty cash left to head over to Reliant Stadium and watch the Texans play with fire, passion and intensity against the Jaguars.

    Several things here to address.

The fan cost index is faulty. Its based on a "family" going to the game and buying food/drinks/clothes/programs/ect. Outside of ticket cost it is still affordable to attend the game and not have to stand. Good luck being able to get a ticket, but they are around. Besides the fact that the FCI is based on this, I would venture to say that the majority of fans going to the game are not families with children, they're attended by male dominated 20-50 yr olds.

I think you are correct to say that it won't regularly reach 105k, but it isn't intended to. Though, it very well may reach or surpass that number at the superbowl or a playoff game. You want to contiue to attack the party pass, yet you still have no idea what you're talking about. It is more than just trying to see the field. The true fans are are able to enjoy the game in the stadium, and the atmosphere alone is worth the price of admission. You're out of your mind if you think a mere 8,000 people will use the party pass. For $35 (after tax and other stuff) you get to see a playoff team, unlike here, where we have the worst expansion franchise EVER.

I'm not defending the city of dallas or it's little dick syndrome of trying to be new york. I am however saying the people in this thread that are knocking the stadium and the party pass idea are either unhappy about it because they're jealous, or they are just dallas/cowboy haters.

Uh.... are you talking about the Giants? FYI, they only play in Dallas once a year. I KNOW you're not talking about the Cowboys. They did not make the playoffs last year. Hence, they are no more of a playoff team than the Texans...

BTW, since 1997, the Texans have just as many playoff wins as the Cowboys. Last time the Cowboys won a playoff game, Bill Clinton was in office. And it was just his first term.
