I remember when the last time he tries to play one on five against us, and that was an epic failure. 11 of 33 anyone ?

Read Brooksballs post about 5 above yours where he quotes the rules for better clarity and understanding.

just to add to brooksball's post.

    http://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_12.html?nav=ArticleList

    Section VII--Fines

    c. During an altercation, all players not participating in the game must remain in the immediate vicinity of their bench. Violators will be suspended, without pay, for a minimum of one game and fined up to $35,000. The suspensions will commence prior to the start of their next game. A team must have a minimum of eight players dressed and ready to play in every game. If five or more players leave the bench, the players will serve their suspensions alphabetically, according to the first letters of their last name. If seven bench players are suspended (assuming no participants are included), four of them would be suspended for the first game following the altercation. The remaining three would be suspended for the second game following the altercation.

    ----------

so would you classify as odom leaving the immediate vicinity of the bench? i would.. i think the fact he made contact with a blazer player, even if it was just chest bumping, should sell the point to the NBA

He should have been given a suspension on that foul! That was absolutely a cheap shot by Ariza.Damn shame they didn't suspend him for at least one game.I noticed that he didn't care what's the status of Rudy after he fouled him hardly and sent him on the floor unbalanced.

Lamar Odom did step out of the bench area and talked trash with Brandon Roy when the scuffle occurred. He should be suspended without a doubt!Hope the result of reviewing the tape will come out soon.

ariza being not being suspended doesnt surprise me.

remember bynum early with that elbow to wallace and not getting any suspensions for that? well karma took care of bynum not sure if it will do anthing to ariza. (wouldnt that be ironic if it did, the two players missing last year missing again?)

i just saw the replay in the other thread, I was watching the game on channel 9 last night (in LA) and they didnt show odom walking towards roy the blazers feed did.

I do think that would qualify as Odom leaving the bench especially since he confronted Roy too and he should be suspended for at least 1 game.

what the nba does for their darling lakers is a different story though

Thats pretty ridiculous. Regardless of what they think his intention was, he should be suspended. Thats giving a green light for those hard "frustration" plays.

Hopefully Fernandez is fine. They better not try to pull any of that s#!te against us.

WHAT? How the hell does that foul NOT garner a suspension of Ariza?? It was a 28 pt blowout, and completely unnecessary given the circumstances of the game. Again, we are seeing the complete lack of consistency and fairness coming down from that fat **** David Stern's office. Seriously, tell Blazers fans that you aren't going to suspend the guy that almost cost your best bench player his season, or even worse. He's willing to suspend guys like Amare, Nash, Rafer, and Barnes over less damaging stuff, but God forbid anyone touch the precious Lakers and the fact that they might go 0-3 on this road trip without a little help. Completely spineless and gutless reaction by the NBA front office, and it's inconsistent crap like this that makes me hate David Stern more and more.

Is there any word on Odom yet? I mean the rules clearly state he should be suspended.

It's the LA Times, hard to get much more reputable than that.
