Bottom line, if he ain't winning a national championship, he's ain't winning a national championship. I don't care if he's 9-3 or 7-4 every year. So it didn't bother you at all that we lost our last 3 games last year? You'd think with all this talent that he seems to be getting, and with a joke of a schedule, we'd be close this year. We were close this year. One last-minute upset and a loss to the #1 team in the nation. ------------------ Is it any coincidence that the Cato is the only Rocket with a temperature scale named after him? I didnt think so!!!!
A loss to your arch rival who barely beat Oklahoma State, by 49 points? Whoohoo, real close there. Don't get me started on losing to Stanford when you have the ball and the lead with three minutes left and you can't get one first down. Yes I was upset about the three losses last year. If you recall, we still had a possible outside shot at a BCS game, and a very good shot at the BixXII championship (jeez what a concept Mack), but he got too damn lovey dovey with the Aggies and I think that made us lose our edge for the rest of the season. Sure, we may have been beaten by superior teams (even though I'm pretty sure A&M and Arkansas weren't superior), it just looked like we weren't even trying. Basically, I believe Mack's had one good season, his first. I place last year's season ending embarassments squarely on his shoulders, as I do this year with the whole QB controversy that shouldn't have been (however, I have been impressed with the way they've played since the OU game, probably has a lot to due with the fact that he finally wised up and picked a damn QB). I will be happier with this season if we win the Holiday Bowl, but you're all still missing my entire point-Mackovic isn't that horrible a coach. I think he is on par with Brown at this time, if not a little better. I personally can't stand Mack's political attitude. Hopefully, next year he'll prove me wrong because I don't think we'll be able to beat KSU, NU, and A&M all in the same year. ------------------ "He was under more balls than a midget hooker."-Bobby Hill visit www.swirve.com and, http://www.geocities.com/clutch34_2000 for great Rocket insight by some of your fellow BBS posters! I think Mackovic will do well at AZ and also believe that he fits right in the Pac 10. Air Mackovic ------------------ "UNBEATABLE"
Deloss Dodds and the UT Athletic Department cannot afford to send all the members of the "Showband of the Southwest" to San Diego, but Mack Brown gets a pay raise. What did Mack Brown do? He already gets $1 million without any conference/national titles. I don't like it at all. http://www.dallasnews.com/sports_day/colleges/football/233350_08utfblede.html ------------------ Go West! Hey RM95, I forgot to ask you the other night. That banner, the one that says "Big 12 Champs 1996"-- you wanted to know who the coach was and I told you. I wanted to ask how many losses UT had that year...?
