Bruce Pascoe of the Arizona Daily Star was in town Wednesday talking with former Wildcat Jordan Hill. Here's the article:

Arizona Daily Star: Jordan Hill improving but needs focus, Rockets say

Quotes from Hill (who is great talking with the media), but very insightful stuff from assistant coach Jack Sikma, who explains a bit about focus and concentration being an issue with Hill.

I didn't want to upset Chase :). Unfortunate typo.

    Nice find Clutch.

It's sad that they have to drive to San Antonio, damn them for tearing down AstroWorld!

I hope that translates into, "I couldn't concentrate in NYC, because I wasn't comfortable. It shouldn't be so surprising that I'm scoring 20ppg in the playoffs after my first full year of listening and progressing with Coach Sikma."

    Raven,
per the quote in your tag line:

    McNair's "I'm satisfied with Gary" = Kubiak's "I believe in Frank Bush"

    -sorry, couldn't resist.

i actually think this is all good stuff....instead of being a younger player who should be further ahead and just doesn't care, hill is just getting to the point where he has to make the decision that'll change his career for better or worse. He's got increasing responsibility on the court and off of it now and is either going to man up or try to hide from it. I think it'll be the former. Looking forward to seeing how he develops, if we don't trade him of course...

Wow, Hill has gone from not thinking he would ever be more than a role player with a bad attitude to becoming one of my favorite players. I love his talent but more and more I love his demeanor both on and off the court. He wants to improve. He says all the right things and he is translating those things to performance on the court.

Whatever was wrong with him in New York I am beginning to think it was much more to blame on New York

It's kind of the opposite for me. That article makes him sound like a slacker. The only encouraging detail is that he wants to stick here - so long as Chase is here or the climate. I'm kind of abhorrent of parents that still behave like kids.

Anyway, it's just one piece so I hope there's a lot more to like that missed mention.

For serious? You don't ever hang out with your friends or people you know from work?
