Wasn't sure actually. Hard to sort through all this mess honestly. Thanks for the clarification. Last I checked Hedo was looking like a Raptor.

The Pistons have verbal commitments from Ben Gordon and Charlie V. Doubt they have enough left now to give Hedo a $10/year starting salary.

This is so bizarre. Artest said the same thing. Both players wanted more money from their current team, and both players took less money to play with a different team. Yet, both players received the same contract.

Ariza's contract is not huge in NBA terms... Least of our worries.

i like the part about having help work and develop his game, thats going to be the most important part of the signing, don't just let this guy keep being what he was or the same type of player, he needs to be in the gym this offseason working on his offensive moves, his jumper, ball handling etc. And please get him in the weight room some also..

Mitch Kupchak and Morey worked together, so that neither team overpaid, and both teams got happy player.

    Brilliant!

I doubt houston could have signed ron for 3 years at 18 or the 5 33mm that they gave ariza. Arrest would feel underpaid by midseason. The guy has acted up over contract disputes before and he prob will feel the same by the beginning of the season. Love ron but he's too loose cannon.

I'm going to enjoy seeing Ron-on-5 while Kobe stands there pissed that Ron doesn't even glance at another option. Ariza is a much better fit and is capable of playing within an offense. And at this point in their careers Ariza is a better defensive player. Artest has lost a big step in trying to defend perimeter scorers. Just because we threw Ron on Roy doesn't mean he was capable. Roy blew by Ron every chance he got. Same goes for Pierce and Melo. Assigning him to defend those guys doesn't mean he's going to be successful.

Now that I think about it. The appreciated comment might just be PR if u consider tax implications for a ball player playing in canada he'd prob make close to the same as what he's getting here except as a rocket he'd have more exposure.

But this is the current Ariza, right? He's only 24 years old, so all bets are on that he'll be better as time goes on. My projection for Ariza is that he'll eventually be worth double digits (10 mill+), so when that time comes he'll actually be a steal, and continue being a steal until his contract runs out.

just words. ariza definitely wanted to stay in LA (his home, and his role was perfect).

hopefully he can use our situation next year and develop his game and be even better.

Lets hope He does try to get better and not let the success he achieve last year get into his head.

Ariza has a chance to be the next Gerald Wallace.

So Ariza wasn't appreciated in LA? Come on, Lee is just a clown. After a failed bluffing, trying to save some face.

??? Sources are saying Lakers and Rox gave identical offers. If he really wanted to stay in LA why would he turn the offer down and sign with another team for roughly the same amount?

Ariza: We appreciate you. We really do. You want Rockets fans to adore you forever: put on number 96 and bring us a ring.

All Artest drama aside, Ariza, I'm glad you're here.
