I watched the Brooks play several time and I didn't see a foul. He just lost the ball. Simple as that.
If you look at aaron brooks reaction after the play he knew he didnt get fouled. Thats why he had that "my bad" look on his face.
If Ariza can bring Houston a few championships and bring all that talent that Kobe gave him to Houston Ariza can yell at Yao Ming for all I care. I think the numbers of Ariza compared to last years should make him a candidate for Most Improved Player. If he can continue to grow with out all you Rockets Fans yelling at his poor shooting I think he has all the talent in the World and can be a steal for his long term contract. Give it up to Morey he does his homework. Ariza has A potential Dont forget about that.
I am a pretty big brooks fanatic, but even that pissed me off, its the 4th straight time hes done it at the end of games, makes no sense to me. I think adelman told him to
adelman doesn't seem to be bothered by this. but imo aaron is just too skinny. those drives may work well under normal circumstances, but the last-second plays have not been working well for us. dude is simply not getting the calls, which happens a lot to other players as well.
Its natural that any player can get spoiled by getting unlimited touches, given freedom to operate how they please. Then get mad once they get their freedoms restricted, their opportunities to shine diminished. How Ariza left the Lakers feeling "disrespected" was kind of a concern to me. Like the success got to his head and he wanted the stardom and spotlight everyone else was getting. Which is generally through points scored, not grunt work D. Well too bad NBA champ. Dont throw the strengths of your game away just to get some extra 3 pointers heaved up. How come the team defense has gotten way worse this year when it still has Battier and Chuck Hayes, with Ariza added to it? (I know Yao and Deke factor in, still...). If it seems like undue criticism on Ariza, its really thats the kind of questions that #1 options are held accountable to. And can he handle it. But you gotta let players discuss things amongst themselves like that. Not every disagreement is bad.
When you play fast tempo compared to half court game theres going to be a big difference in OPPG. Especially when your big man isnt cloggin up the paint on defense In results the Rockets are giving up way more ppg this season then previous. Ariza is a good 1 on 1 defender which will help out in the playoffs once every play counts it will eventually turn into a halfcourt game come playoff time or in this case Rockets need a guy Like Elton Brand Lock down big man defender and Offensive Post Threat. Not sayin Brand should be a Rocket just saying a player who has his abilitys should help out the Rocket ALOT In the OPPG area.
Funny how you're using this logic for Brooks but no love has ever been given to Mac for when he experienced the same thing.
McGrady was never criticized for low assist numbers. I dont think anyone ever made a bad comment about T-Mac's ability as a playmaker.
 Nice It's also where Trevor is the new McGRady... Some of you guys just have to hate somebody don't you? It must be the "Tr" curse.
True, but I was referring to the playing with limited offensive players (i.e., the limited supporting cast: Hayes and Battier) comment. I also was highlighting the statement because it served as an excuse/double standard offered in support of Brooks yet it is often overlooked when critiques are made about T-Mac not being a winner, failing in the fourth quarter and such. With as many open looks that players had with Tracy, he should have had high assists averages prior to last season. Not to mention the bobbled passes and stuff. Those are/were the most frustrating to see. And Brooks does need to have a better sense of the game and situation when he elects to penetrate. I, for one, am not sold on his closing ability yet. He is not going to get the call the majority of the time. It doesn't matter if it's fair or not. In those situations, I am not confident in any of the Rockets yet when the game is on the line beyond maybe Landry.
I dunno, Marion is taller than Kidd/Terry/Barea and also has long arms even for someone who is 6 foot 8. Marion knows he will have help inside thus plays for the jumpshot. I dont like Brooks' jumpshot chances against Marion when Shawn is over playing the stop n pop. Not as cut n dry as one might think regarding just taking the pullup J. Against the other Mav guards its a no brainer though.
Yeah, much ado about nothing. Jordan and Kobe would praise their teammates for this, and most times Ariza is WIDE OPEN calling for the ball...can't blame a guy, he's trying to help Brooks break out of his tunnel vision... It is better to be ready to shoot the open shot and want to take it like Ariza...then be like Shane and not always ready to shoot it and pass on open shots...
