I watched every single game last year. And I saw how much better Ariza was after Martin got here. 15ppg on 40% shooting is better than what we have now at the SF position. I'm still interested to see how Adelman will give Lee any minutes, can he play the 3?

BTW you might want to start actually replying to my points, why not have a mature conversation?

You don't think he did better at the end of last season with Martin at the 2 instead of Battier?

I think we should have at least given him a chance this year, especiall since we're a running team, Ariza is much better than Battier on fast breaks. Lee is OK, but we essentially traded our best SF for a backup SG, playing behind arguably our best player.

Ryan Bowen was once an NBA starter.

    Jus' sayin'

    On another note, to me Battier/Budinger + Martin/Lee > Ariza/Battier + Martin/Taylor.

This applies to all, EXCEPT for this question:

    Lee>>>>>Ariza

I did defend Ariza all last season but it wasn't because of favoritism. It just seems like a lot of us here look for the whipping boy and get to lashin.

He played out of his element and obviously didn't fit. We should be good with Lee now.

Mature conversations dont happen in the garm, this place is a cesspool

And there is no point in arguing with someone who clearly knows very little about the subject at hand. Trevor Ariza sucks donkey balls, end of discussion

Off topic, but it's really not worthy of its own thread. Might as well toss it into a discussion about defensive wings.

Well that was under JVG who occasionally had "WTF" moments, remember this was the same guy that started Steve Novak in his rookie year against the Suns. Ariza consistantly started throughout the year as well, Ryan Bowen started a few games in a playoff series.

    But is Battier/Budinger + Martin/Lee better than Martin/Battier + Ariza/Budinger?

Ariza's failure as a Rocket has most to do with management and coaching.

Who in their right mind would make Ariza a #1 guy? Ariza cannot carry a team, but he's an excellent support player.

If Ariza was counted on as a #3 guy, he'd be excellent. A solid starter and spot up shooter.

Lee is a low ceiling player. What you see is what you get and that's not a whole lot.

I clearly remember that game. It's a shame how much hate Battier gets. People just don't see the big picture. Everybody is not going to be a star. Teams need guys like Battier.

    You all crazy.

Assuming skill set is a wash because one can score and the other can defend better.

Ariza is taller and bigger and can start over Shana.

With Lee we get him for 15 minutes a game.......who is going to feel the need to score every time he touches the ball.

Lee is a better player. It isn't just about stats. It's about shot selection, consistent effort and the ability to fit in with a team and leave your ego at home.

If we had better options, yes. But right now Battier starting at SF is the best option we have b/c Budinger starting with Martin and Brooks is a defensive nightmare.

Lee is a better player. if you could start him for this team. For the fact that they cant start him and he has to come off the bench because they insist that Shane Battier has to be that other guy? Well Lee of course is worse than Ariza if he has to come off the bench. Therefor a bad trade. Unless he is starting at some point or we get someone to fill the SF position and Lee could be the reason we are able to obtain the player we get somehow.

HANDS DOWN C. LEE > T. ARIZA...lee is much smarter and a better team player than ariza.

1v1 ... my money is still on Lee to beat ariza.
