good, ariza needs a break and think about his game so far this year. this may be a good thing. maybe he'll watch more tapes and see what he's doing wrong, which shouldn't be hard to see.
I'm going to go with what the coach and GM want from him on this one. They want him to shoot the ball and try to be more of a scorer. If it takes a couple of bad shooting games for him to develop into a better scorer later in the year, then so be it. That is the role given to him by the coach and GM. So do you think we have a chance to be a top 5 team this year in the west? Coming into the season we all knew what to expect. We would allow players like AB, Ariza, Landry, Lowry, Andersen, and our rookies a chance to develop their games. We knew it would be hard to watch from time to time, but that is expected when asking guys to play beyond their comfort zones. AB is still learning how to be a playmaker and get more assists. He has made bad plays in close games that caused us to lose. So be it, it's what this season was about. 20 games in and we win 13 games now all of a sudden seems like fans are analyzing us like we are the spurs. Like we 'SHOULD' be a contender but are underachieving. I'm not trying to say anybody is wrong for their critiques, im just saying go back to the beginning and remember what this year was supposed to be about and be realistic. GM and coach are trying to let Ariza, AB, and Landry expand their games during a year of no expectations. We were not playing for a title this year, we are developing for next year and years to come....
OFFICAL RELEASE IS OUT. http://www.nba.com/2009/news/12/14/ariza.suspension/index.html @STEIN_LINE_HQ Cost of a one-game suspension for Houston's Trevor Ariza, based on his season's salary of nearly $5.9 million, is $53,218
It's probably fair to say that your co-workers don't jump ontop of you if you drop the stapler. Comparing an office job to the NBA (or any pro sport) is flawed. For example, if you attempt to punch somebody in your office, are you expecting to get a 1-day suspension from work? Or would you expect to get fired? The NBA has rules specifically outlining how to handle violence. Why? Because violence, at some level, is expected in the NBA. In fact, it's inevitable. Hell, in Hockey violence is promoted. So as was said, your analogy is flawed.
That behavior of swinging his forearm at DeRozan was one way or another not intentional though, the guy was just frustrated with his performance following that steal. You could tell that Jarret Jack confronted him and he just backed off and didn't talk back. One game suspension is more than enough for him as punishment. With no intent of that misdemeanor, I would say a fine for that could do. Well, let's see what changes will be brought to the rotation.
Can we appeal the suspension to get it bumped up to like 3 to 5 games? I mean he really tried to hurt that guy, 5 games minimum. DD
Limit Battier's minutes. God knows that man has lost a step or two. Tracy should be brought along slowly as instructed. I like this idea a lot.
