Ariza said Morey told him before free agency he wouldn't be back with the team.

Yeah, but the lowly Suns could afford to part with him because their season would just go from bad to bad. Assuming we kept him, he would have been a key cog and trading him (even for someone ostensibly better) might have upset the apple cart and ruined our chemistry mid-season. That's pretty risky.

I say Daryl was right to walk away from this one. He just didn't follow through with an adequate replacement.

Ariza deserves the No. 1 more but it was lucky charm for this dude.

Thanks, Trev. Should not dwell on it.

One of the best, most beautiful Tributes!

If a player wants $40 million pay cut, it does not mean he is going to get it. Steph Curry wanted pay cut,
Bob Myers rejected it. As a result, Curry gets supermax.

If you are a championship level team you ADD pieces you don't change direction - we turnover the roster far too much.

There has only been 3teams that have won anything since he has been here what is your point?

What great GM is going to magically create a team with 4all stars?

Robert Covington can replace Ariza, it is likely available.

He put up a nice stat line in the Timberwolves on Wednesday (including making 5-of-11 from downtown).

Morey has 8 playoffs appearances in 11 years with Rockets. Now he is starting to look wash-up.

7 teams have won the championships since Morey became a rockets gm.

    Spurs, Mavs (State of Texas)
    Heat, Cavs
    Lakers, Celtics

There are only 3 rings in Texas in 11 years.

Do you think trading Ariza would have went down well in that locker room?

And nobody could have envisioned the wizards panicking they are the only team probably willing to gamble on Ariza.

As I said this in summer, Ariza can be traded for a rookie contract, there is no need to take back any other contract if the deal was done in July.

No I'm not, Trevor is. We're on the same page, I think you're misinterpreting my post.

I said here the other day that Covington would be the perfect second-tier add for us at the trade deadline.

The TWolves just got him, though, and have been playing pretty well since then, plus they've very recently showed a distinct reluctance to trade with us, so what on Earth would make you think he's "likely" available???

You are talking of a champion team. Players go low just to play with them. Player discounts, remember?

The real problem is finding a "cheaper" Ariza who plays D like Ariza. If he can shoot, it's better. Actually there's 2 excellent options, Kawhi or Butler. Bazemore should be the less preferred option.
