which is implying that martin will fail to win the hearts and minds of the fans...------> basically assuming that he will not be a successful player for us. it's pessimism and negativity, thus my response.
Martin hasn't made any glaring errors on the court yet to call him a whipping boy. If he makes at least 3 trips to the Free Throw line a game, 2 or 3 steals a game, and at least 4 assists, 4 rebounds, he can shoot 35% for all I care, as long as they are shots within the flow of the game. My issue with players is if they try to jack up a shot when nothing else is working, and disrupt our ball movement.
Wow, I'd love to work for someone like you... Most of us care not only about fluidity, but results as well. 35 % shooting is flat out unacceptable.
Ariza hasn't done that in more than a month. He only did it because coach asked him too. He's been good the last 5 games and his shooting has been a lot better. Ariza is a new guy too. This whole team is screwed up in what role to play.
Enthropy you see what I mean? I'm not saying he's going to be the whipping boy because he's going to play bad, i'm saying it because there are people already starting.
I'm fairly confident he's not gonna shoot 35% for the next years. But if he has off-nights he will still get my support for all the other things he brings to this team.
We will just have to agree to disagree... a player can give their all and be loved by some of the fans, but still be the whipping boy... see exhibit A : Ryan Bowen
I agree. He's been less wince-inducing lately which gives me hope for his improvement. He's also gone to the rack with more conviction and less turnovers.
man, this will hurt us really bad. ariza had been my favourite player since he was signed and I was sooooo glad morey had signed him when we were in the free agency signing period. he is a great player. but on the other hand, we will be losing all of the next 3 games!!! this will only mean Im gonna be even happier with the bigger lottery percentages!!! whoohooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ariza is the key to this team winning. expect more 66 point miami performances. only this time we'll be giving up 140 and scoring 110 with kmart on the team.
good point. but Im surprised ariza has barely been taking any shots in the last few games. I'd rather he go for 5-17 than if he went for something like 3-11. This is a developmental year and it would totally ruiin the whole purpose if he didnt try out his limits and miss those shots. because if he didnt he'd be missing them next year when it matters.
If Jermaine Taylor gets meaningful minutes he will not disappoint. He doesn't appear to have the highest bball IQ in the world but can pass better than most people think and he is by far the best slasher/finisher on this team. He can give you a point for every two minutes he is on the court while drawing all sorts of fouls.
sounds like a no passing black hole to me? Im surprised chase has gotten all the rookie minutes while jermaine has barely got ANY meaningful minutes
