Ariza in H-Town that is great news. Now trade TMac. This team can not wait till February to trade him. The team must be ready for the start of the season, besides the team will be waiting for Yao to get back. I am sure Morey is not done the Rockets will not be lottery team this season but it team looking to make another serious run in the playoffs. Oh yeah goodluck Ron.

I just found out Ariza is of Dominican descent and is changing his sports citizenship to play for the Dominican national basketball team.

I haven't seen a more stupid unrealistic idea.
We don't have money to sign oberto or mcdyess. What makes you think we do when the FULL MLE just went to Ariza.

Great, so an organisation (Wolves) will play nice and sell rubio cheap only because rubio wants to play with other euros? In this economic climate, organisations don't make concessions. The whole reason they picked up Rubio was to sell him for a high price.

No, absolutely not. The only way I'd trade Tracy would be for another expiring. We need his contract to clear space for a 2010 free agent.

Yes but there are replacements already for him. Just watch the summer league games of the Rockets. :)

I'd like to correct myself. We can sign more players, however ONLY for the minimum.
Mcdyess won't take the min. Oberto might if everyone else passes on him. He'll get desparate.

I can't believe all this talk about trading Battier. With Artest gone and Yao being out for an extended period, he's the only leader left in this team.

If Battier leaves, I think Scola can be the leader of this team.

No way trade TMac for a player that can help out now. There is no way Lebron or Wade come down here to H-Town. TMac should be traded for Amare or Bosh. The team and fans deserve a team that will be ready to compete at the start of the season.

Why does everybody say we don't have money? Didn't we just let Artest walk, how about his cap space? Ariza was signed with the MLE so we should have whatever money available from Artest leaving.

To be clear I was pretty much joking. I'm not advocating signing McDyess just because his first name's Hispanic and that might help lure Rubio. But I don't think the general idea is that absurd. Hispanic or not, M.Gasol and Rudy would both be great fits here, and they're both at least somewhat available I think.

And who said anything about the Twolves 'playing nice'? If Rubio declared he would only come to Houston, we wouldn't have to give up as much in a trade because we wouldn't really be bidding against anybody else, not because Minny would want to do Rubio a favor.

Personally, I still want Shane on the team. I think Ariza can play at the same time as Shane just like Ron did at times.

I think all that we have left is Tmac's expiring contract to trade. Freaked out about our lack of a big man. Teams with length are going to destroy us

Finding a qualified, somehow proven backup center, either Gortat or someone else, is this team's priority.

    Tracy McGrady
    Aaron Brooks
    Carl Landry

    for

    Amare Stoudemire
    Leandro Barbosa

Or something along those lines, IF Stoudemire is okay with playing center for a running team (sorry, but we would be insane to give Yao another contract anyway, there, I said it) AND re-signing long-term.

    Shane Battier

    for

Kwame Brown and future 1st round pick

Detroit will still have the cap space to absorb the difference in the salaries. Kwame plays backup C, Shane goes home to Detroit. In a year, when Kwame's contract expires, Yao might be back anyway, and even if he isn't, we'll have better options with his $17 million expiring contract.

Chicago might also make a good trading partner.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Most people seem content to trade away the whole damn team.

If giving up Battier leads to a deal that lands us a quality player (preferably a big man) that doesn't hurt the team now and only improves it for the future, then I'd be ok with Battier or Scola or Landry or anyone else being traded. But some of these ideas seem like lateral moves at best.
