I know the rules about Hoopsworld, but they suggest that Oberto is the next signing for us http://www.***************/Story.asp?story_id=13167
Guess I'm in the minority that doesn't want to see Battier moved. With both Yao and Deke gone, he's basically the veteran presence on this team. I understand we're looking to get younger now, but the team also needs some leadership. Plus, I kind of have a feeling, if he goes so does our defense. Scola too...only for different reasons. If we're trying to get another scorer or a big...someone who can create his own shot, why on earth would we dangle Scola then. I like the Ariza deal because it keeps us competitive now in the chance that Yao and Tmac come back later in the season, but it's a building block for the future too. I just don't want to see Battier and Scola or any other key contributors last year traded away in either a lateral move or one that completely sacrifices this season, when Yao and Tmac are still unknowns.
This is next. Rockets trade T-Mac, Brooks and Landry for Bosh, Evans, and Banks. Rockets trade Battier, Dorsey and J. Taylor for Fernandez and Przybilla. Rockets trade Scola, Hayes, Barry, and Cook for Brad Miller. New Rotation: Starters - PF - Bosh SF - Ariza C - Miller SG - Fernandez PG - Lowry Bench: PG - Banks SG/SF - Budinger PF - Evans PF/C - Przybilla How ya like them apples? No negative comments please, it's perfect
We need to hope Hedo signs with someone other than Toronto. If the Raptors are out of it by February...they'll deal Bosh. The Rockets are in great position to wait it out and become the team that lands him. In the meantime we can still win with what we got.

cant do that you cannot trade back to back first round picks the rockets traded this years pick as part of the artest deal and before anyone says what about batum/greene etc the pick was made and someone was drafted by the pick, its no longer a pick but the draft rights to. so thats why it was able to be completed. so the rockets cannot trade next years pick at all until they actually draft someone with the pick, minnesota is not going to wait on something like that.
Battier + sweetner for Pryzbilla, Fernandez plox. Sign Oberto PG: Brooks/Lowry SG: Fernandez/Barry/Budinger SF: Ariza/White/Taylor/McGrady PF: Scola/Landry/Hayes/Dorsey C: Pryzbilla/Scola/Oberto/Yao Possibly move McGrady and Yao for a developing star and some picks. Not too bad IMO, considering all the bad luck that's been happening.
Not true. The rule that you can't trade back to back picks does not look backwards. It only applies to future draft picks, so the Rockets could trade their 2010 pick away but not both their 2010+2011.
Ok one more time. Starters: PF - Bosh SF - Ariza C - Oberto SG - Fernandez PG - Lowry Bench: PG - Banks SG/SF - Wafer PF/C - Scola C - Przybila
Too bad the Grizz prolly don't want anything from us, cause I was hoping maybe Rudy Gay, Marc Gasol, and Marco Jaric for Battier, Barry, and Cook plus a 1st round pick. Grizz gets out of paying Gay big bucks once his rookie contract is up, Battier's contract expires in a couple of years (I think) and Barry and Cook's expire this year. We have to take Jaric's bad contract to make it a more even sided deal. ...yeah I know the irony in this trade lol...
