Wow, this short term crow eating thread is really short term. We won because of Ariza two games in a row because of his offense. His defense pays off way more frequently though.
I am happy Ariza had a superstar esque level couple of games, but its not like this is his norm. He will regress back down to his normal level (probably) sooner or later.
Ariza has got to go...or free snow cones for everyone from snowconeman22. I want bubble gum flavor! "FREE SNOW CONES FOR EVERYONE!!!!" - Oprah
THATS WHAT I WAS GON SAY! CURRY SUCKS! HE AINT EVEN THAT GOOD! looks like he's 10 years old. should go back to boys and girls club basketball
I said we could have had both I never guaranteed that we would be champions. It's a simple statement "We could have had both". Did 1/3 of Clutchfans all of a sudden forget how to read in the last 3 days, lol.
hysterical how some harden lovers (OP, Larswhatever..) who wold defend defend defend are so quick to throw Ariza under the bus for a bad stretch... just to have him go off like this... lmao...
When you say "a bad stretch", are referring to the entire 2015-2016 season? Outside of a few good games here and there, Ariza has been pretty bad.
^^ Yes yes , and funny where all that derision for James went when he went back to playing like an MVP as well. People react to things, I'm over it. Apparently some people are happier that I look bad than they are that Ariza looks good. Hopefully this thread continues to motivate Trevor and he can continue his run of absurdly hot shooting. If he does something like start missing shots , people might complain. In the OP I didn't say trading him was the only option . I also suggested rest. Well, he has looked a lot more energized lately. Its outlandish to think that I dislike Trevor and wouldn't love for him to perform like has these last few games. I guess because I defended James like others have defender Trevor that I am a nut-hugger. Everyone could have played better and done more during our losing streak and frankly Trevor is a more experienced more mature player than James at this point.. as he should be as a 10 year vet. To say that Ariza is limited and can only hope to go as James goes is disrespectful to Trevor. You guys can say all you want about Trevor having to cover for James on defense ... this and that .. yada yada yada and that James is only playing hard now, Its all bull****. Ariza wasn't carrying his weight at the beggining of the year . Something needed to change. Hopefully, something has changed.
Just more exaggeration. No different than the posters who truly believe Harden has been "garbage" most of the season and lay most if not all the blame for the teams woes at his feet. Arizas defense has obviously taken a step down this year, but I'd still say at the very worst you would classify it as slightly above average. He started the season shooting horribly but over the last 23 games he's shooting a blistering 44% from 3. Obviously I don't think he will keep 44% up, but if he can keep his overall season average where it is now and he keeps bringing the slightly above average defense he's still easily a positive for this team on a great contract.
I never agreed with OP I always thought Brewer was our biggest problem but you have to admit Ariza's defense was pretty bad for him this season. His shooting was pretty bad too, I can understand why some would wanna trade him. Its funny the same people who were wrong about Harden are harping on the guy wrong about Ariza, Ironic.
Oh okay, so 23 games he was bad, 23 games he was good. So he was only bad for 1/2 of the season so far. His defense hasn't been above average, it has slipped quite a bit, particularly in transition. He was even called out on it numerous times here: http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on...every-rockets-defensive-transition-possession I am excited he has had a great January, but he has been a significant part of the problem for the first two months of the season.
