Gogi is already on the radar but I do not know how to get someone like Korver

but Ray Allen is a valid alternative option

Wasn't Francis bought out for like 40 million when he was in Portland? That was without the cap incentive of the stretch provision.

I think the Blazers had crazy team salaries like the Mavs & Knicks back then. There might have been luxury tax savings from that buyout.

If we matched Parsons, or spent the exception already, then it would have been harder to sign Smith.

Morey has built a team almost completely reliant on the 3&D. Frustrating at times to watch BUT we have depth, can get out in transition, have an above average low post presence, and an MVP candidate we can count on in the clutch.

It is. You don't spend a total of 60m for 4 role players

I believe you make your own luck and Morey has been good at putting his team in a position to take advantage of opportunities as they arise.

We've swung more to transition offense and hard defense. Look at how many finishers are on this team. And you're focusing on 3 players. Howard can score. Harden can score. DMo can score. Ariza can. Papa can. Canaan can. We have scorers. And when you have the leading scorer in the NBA, scoring isn't our number one priority. Defense has ALWAYS been what this team lacked but now we have a lockdown defender at every position. Yes I called Harden a lockdown defender.

some of you all are making it seem like Smith is completely atrocious on offense, as if he is Dorsey. Dude can get buckets on the drive and quick post, plus is a good slasher. Also he can shoot a decent mid-range shot. The only thing "bad" about his game is that he shoots too many 3s at times.

Sort of true, but not entirely. This is why you don't sign bad contracts and a benefit of valuing flexibility. When opportunities present themselves, you want to be in a position to take advantage of them.

Everything about falling into Houstons lap could have been said about falling into Dallas's lap if it had gone that way.

We are completely reliant on 3&D&Finish&FreeThrows.

Wing players have been torching Dallas this year... And I haven't seen that happen against Houston so far. But last year, that's a different story.

What do this years Mavericks share with last years Rockets......

DD can say "Parsons can make the improvement on D with focus".... But he has a great coach over there and that defense is awful.

This makes DMo very important to the success of this team and is one of the main reasons I don't like the idea of trading him .... which means Joey Dorsey would be getting significant minutes behind Howard ....

DD has a point .... This team has struggled quite often offensively since the early season success they showed. They go thru one or two offensive funks just about every game where they just cant buy a bucket over a 4-5 minute stretch.

Easy baskets. Not everything has to be jumpshots. DD should expect the Rockets too take 3's but also get in the paint.

I don't see what is so hard to comprehend about this.

That's numbers for ya. We'd blow teams out of the water if Howard could make 65% of his free throws.

    Exactly.

Unfortunately, Howard is not going to get too many touches inside unless his free throw rate improves. He's not improved it for how many years now?

Rox have the one of the best defense in the league. And now we are adding brewer and j.smoove. This is so refreshing to see.
