Not everyone can shoot free throws like Steve Nash but that doesn't mean it's OK that Dorsey is shooting less than 20% this year. Nobody is asking these guys to be all time great shooters, we just don't want them to be all time BAD shooters.
Well, let's see here. The two best shooters we had on the roster..we traded away one and we benched the other one. And we effectively added one of the worst shooters in the NBA to the roster and we're allowing him to fire up shots out there. And the second best shot creator on the roster we also benched. And the player that is creating the most plays behind Harden generates contested looks for his teammates (who are somewhere between good and average shooters on open looks) that they hit at about a 20% clip. (Actually probably below 20% altogether. Look it up for yourself.) And we're wondering why our shooting sux so bad? Well slap me Mama. Whodathunkit?
Even with Parson shooting a better reg season percentage, ariza has a much bigger impact on wins and his defense can't be measured. Everyone knows this, only suburban whites overstate parsons impact.
been thinking about this myself. couple factors on my mind 1) minutes - as you say, tired legs make for bad jump shots 2) maybe last season was just a statistical anomaly. it would be a prolonged one but in the course of a 10 year career, guys can have a "hot season" 3) if trevor has to move even the slightest bit before his shot, he seems to miss. i'm not talking about dodging a defender (of course that lowers the %) but rather, if he has to reach out to catch the pass. i think Wall was putting passes consistently right on the money for trevor. Harden is a great passer but he's no John Wall. If trevor has to reach out, catch the pass, re-balance, and then shoot... it's not pretty. 4) he was in the East. Crappy eastern teams play crappy eastern defense. He was shooting more open shots due to poor defense.
Basically Ariza was 40%+ from corner 3 the last 3 seasons (taking 40% of his 3 point attempts from the corners). He was also assisted on some 95%+ of his 3s the last 3 seasons (in fact almost every year of his career). This season he is only being assisted on 89% of his 3s, and only shooting some 33% of his attempts from the corner. Hence a drop off in %. The only other season he was assisted on less than high 90% on 3s was his first time here! (he shot .317 that year). Reason for hope He is currently playing a career high in MPG. Getting him some rest will make a huge difference going forwards (since Brewer suited up, he is down 2 minutes per game already).
U guys only said what others always said. u can't see waht the problems r. The real problem is the team's defense too bad when Howard came back
Agree. Folks who want to "sell high" on Harden. Or folks who think Kyle "Kover" is better than Harden. These idiots, what are they thinking! Spoiler
You act like Morey can go to the "perfect player" store and swipe his Rocket Card and fill in all the holes with perfect players Cleverly disguised "I love chandsome parsons" thread
Patience... Trevor will get back to the norm, Josh Smith will find his role and percentages will increase for both. Relax
Ariza is good when he knows his role. This offense has made him too trigger happy, he thinks this is 10' or that he's Harden sometimes.
