Of course also the fact that McHale gives his players green light to try ANY kind of shot, including simply terrible shots. We watched this from Garcia, Casspi..... And Im not even talking about the transition 3s (there is case for those 3s, not contested, likely offensive rebound, good defensive balance), just about those terrible contested 3s at the start of the offense. Highly doubt that Wittman in Washington allowed his players to try those kind of shots, obviously very low % shots.
It's because we don't have any plays, we just tell guys to shoot threes whenever they can. It pisses me off so much, we have all these amazing players and don't know how to properly utilize them. If we actually got Korver somehow his 3pt% would dip to career lows, because we wouldn't know how to get him open looks. No one would set an off ball screen for him, we would either plant him in the corner, or make him shoot off the dribble after a pick&roll attempt with a big. Watch an ATL game, watch how they actually have set plays for Korver to run around a few screens and then get the ball exactly in his pocket. There's so much talent on the team, but you gotta find spots for everyone, you can't just make them go out and play, you gotta establish a system where you hide players' deficiencies and utilize their strengths. This team literally just goes out and plays. Championships aren't won by just "going out and play". That's what you do in a pickup game.
He's being asked to do too much for too long right now. Once we get another playmaker (and get our lineup settled), Trevor will be able to spot up in the flow much more.
Rest Ariza and let Pap have a chance. Pap might miss a couple but will take the hint and make plays into the paint.
seems like he's missing wide open shots already. game after game after game. not sure another table setter is going to make much difference with that. throughout his entire career, including last season, he has been wildly inconsistent with his shot going feast or famine from game to game.
It seems like his form/balance is way off, a lot different than it was in the beginning of the season. Earlier he was much more balanced, and his follow through looked more mechanical and solid.
he shoots about 39% off harden led catch and shoot 3s (the whole team shoots significantly better from harden assists), it's probably a lot to do with as people say, no harden, no playmaker, no ariza 3's.
no legs, he's been trying to compensate for it. His last 3 against charlotte was a great example, that was his normal form, and well short
And the opponent he's supposed to be covering would be having a lot of fun as well. Fun for everyone except Rockets fans.
he seems to always shoot off balance. He make most of his shots when he steps into it or sets for it.
just think he is in a shooting slump but i think sometimes people just only think he was brought here for his three point shot alone. His defence has been awesome
His shooting slump has carried about 20 games though, it's painful he is a total non-factor on offense right now despite the great D
Could be, though I think it is more about Ariza's extended minutes than anything else. But I'd like to know how much of Ariza's 3 point shots last season (and those of the other Wizards this season) come off of assists, and more specifically, if those assists are coming from John Wall. If it's a large percentage, then I'd say the style of play is affecting his effectiveness from the 3-point line.
