Has someone posted this? Arian was on PTI to explain twitter gate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkvDdER9evM
Another thing to note is that just because you are a doctor doesnt mean you can read an MRI on a hamstring. Id like to know what kind of doctor the ESPN dude was...unless he is a radiologist, he really has no room to talk.
you're right, it depends what kind of doctor , but any orthopedic doctor with a sports medicine background should be able to to so accurately. 3-4 weeks is like the generic answer given for such an injury. I'm sure he could go in week 1 but i'd rather not play him unless they have to
Ok, didnt know what kind of doctor he was other than he was "ESPN's medical analyst", but if he's an orthopedic, then youre right. As previously mentioned though, there are multiple images taken and taking a look at 1 picture is very inconclusive. I just find it shocking that a medical doctor would go public with a diagnosis based on the evidence he had. There are so many things wrong with the situation...Im embarrassed for the doctor and for ESPN. As far as Arian is concerned, Im very comfortable with Tate/Ward in the backfield. I'd rather him fully heal before getting back on the field rather than play in week 1 and risk having the hamstring be a constant nagging injury throughout the season. If he misses 1-2 games, we'll still be fine and that could almost assure us that the hamstring wont be an issue for the remainder of the season.
From what I read, he is an orthopedic guy. Still, I think it's a borderline ethics issue to go on ESPN and give a "diagnosis" based on one MRI image posted on a computer (and thus of lesser quality than the original image).
true, but again, all he did was give the generic answer of 3-4 weeks. That's the first thing that they saw when they hear pulled hamstring regardless of if they actually see an MRI. They did sensationalize it a bit, but it's a news organization so that's what they do. I guess you could lump all these news doctors into that category.
