of course you could be insightful and a good father and not be a pro athlete. so many block heads in here. i like to think that my dad is both insightful and a good father and i try to do the same. but you don't see our philosophies published and posted and gawked over. and i sure as hell didn't get an appearance on Hawaii 5-0. be honest, arian wasn't there for his acting chops.

i won't apologize, i only care about arian because he's a texan and if you guys say different you're being disingenuous and you know it. arian the philosopher/actor means absolutely nothing to me.

and it isn't jsut me, i'm sure the entire texans orginization feels the same way since they pay him to be a damn good football player and not an actor or writer.

my advice to arian, don't bite the hands that feed. we got cheaper talent in tate and wood, arian should focus on football and save those other ambitions when he isn't a texan.

He definitely shouldn't teach how to act when someone is outplaying you.

Even though he isn't a Christian. He seems a very sweet guy; he will be a great father and one of the favourite Texans player, I've seen since becoming a fan late last season.
So glad, that Alex met him in one of the Hawaii Five O special guest casting.

Good stuff. I'd like to know how he'll explain his profession to her, since it's not a kind sport.

I like how he handled the money with her. Great example. :)

The religion part is really important. So many people are brainwashed into their beliefs by their parents and given to choice.

You are completely missing it. We're saying the exact opposite.

He could be insightful and a good father and be a pro athlete.

Here's the key, Arian Foster is a successful professional NFL star who is watched by millions on TV/radio. By reason of his occupation (and NFL marketing) he's developed a following that neither you nor your father enjoy (not that you're seeking it). That's not a negative, in any way, to you or your dad--just reality. If everyone had the time to get to know you guys, I'm sure we'd say you both are solid people. But that's just it. We don't have that type of access to you because your level of success isn't publicized (or televised) for us to follow. That's just how it goes.

Does that mean that because Foster does have this exposure, he doesn't qualify as a person of interest (off the field) to every day Joes like me? Hardly.

But here's the bigger issue. Arian Foster is a human being first, a father/husband second, and an NFL star third. It's cool if you don't subscribe to his 'philosophies'. That's your perogative. But it's definitely not cool for you to say that everyone is being disingenuous in appreciating Arian's thoughts on fatherhood.

I'm sure you can see the lack of 'insight' in making such a blanket generalization.

i agree with all 6 things he said, that's the second time i've said that.

However, this is the last time i will make my point, arian is important to me because he is a great football player who happens to play for my team. Is importance is NOT because he is a good father, good actor, good poet, a philosopher, etc... He could be a ****ty father, horrible actor (he is), an illiterate mute, etc... but if he's good for my team then hell yea!!!

If you disagree and care about his greatness off the field then GTFO of the Texans forum and go to the Yahoo Lifestyle blogs/forum so you can eat that ****e up.

In fact, a request to the MODS. Since this thread is about Arian the person and has nothing to do with Arian the Houston Texans RB, move this thread to the hangout.
