There's a vast difference between getting rid of bad regulations and the total deregulation that libertarians advocate. I haven't paid much attention to Melei, but most economists consider rent controls a bad idea.

The first 6 months of Milei's presidency are not looking good

Argentina poverty rate soars over 50% as Milei austerity bites

    https://www.reuters.com/world/ameri...shing-half-argentina-into-poverty-2024-09-26/

BUENOS AIRES, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Argentina's poverty rate soared to almost 53% in the first half of the year, official data released on Thursday showed, the first hard evidence of the painful impact of libertarian President Javier Milei's tough austerity measures.
That marked a steep jump from 41.7% at the end of last year and more than double the 26% just seven years ago, underscoring the severe cost to regular Argentines of repeated economic crises that have hammered the South American nation.

What I am saying is that real wages are beating inflation. The Peso had to be devalued vs. the USD. Milei is doing the right things.

Inflation is what causes poverty. And they have had insane inflation under previous corrupt leftist governments.

53% poverty rate is the official data from the Argentine government. Are you saying Milei's government is lying about the 53%?

I actually had tennis elbow and used one for a bit...I think it did help...maybe a tiny bit. Now on red light/laser therapy. Shockwave didn't help, acupuncture didn't help...

He also cut back on government spending, which pushed the poverty rate up. This is only 6M in, and the short-term impact is more poverty based on their own criteria. You'll have a better sense of whether those two combinations actually help or make things worse in the long term.

Yes, agreed, it is too early to make a final judgement. But I am strongly convinced that what he is doing will be better for the people in Argentina in the longer term.

This needs a Milei style reform.
