Are you even allowed to do that? Go up to someone on the opposite team and say something like that without getting a technical or something? That was one of the strangest things i've seen.
What do you mean, a technical? He's just psyching him out. If Arenas can't handle it, that's his problem...
One time I saw Vernon Maxwell straighten up another players jersey (and add a few choice words) before a critical FT in a playoff game. Way worse than what LeBron did.
Just the whole demeanor and the way he said it was weird. It looked like he was giving words of encouragement, haha, but he's on the opposite team. I just haven't seen anything like that, in that situation, before. By technical, I meant for taunting or something. I didn't realize you could walk up to the other player and say that right to his face and all. I'm just suprised, that's all.
That kind of stuff happens all the time, don't you remember in 1997 when Karl Malone was shooting freethrows and Scottie Pippen told him "The Mailman doesn't deliver on Sundays" needless to say Malone missed... It's not like Lebron did anything vulgar, and IMO he didn't do anything wrong (even though I wanted to see the wizards win).
Personality wise, Arenas is my new favorite player. Watching his post-game interviews, watching the story of the struggles growing up with his down-on-his-luck dad, and the encouragement he gave his dad, even though he (Gilbert) was just a kid at the time... Dude's got real charisma, very expressive, forthcoming, animated. Seems to have a real good attitude, seems like a real positive guy. I'd guess he's one of the few NBA players that has had an enduring father figure presence in his life, and it shows. Plus his voice sounds like McGruff the Crimedog a little bit, which is pretty cool. Solid dude overall.
I like Arenas as well. He went to highschool close to where I live now, so he's an adopted hometown kind of favorite for me. I also like him because he has amazing talent, and doesn't get all the publicity of the marquis players in the league. It's the same kind of lack of publicity and recognition that Dream used to get. I'm not saying he is as good as Dream, just that he is undervalued by the media.
Yeah he is a good person, and I read somewhere that he chose the number 0 in his jersey because his friends tell him thats the number of minutes he will be play in the NBA.
