Gilbertology is just so interesting I think I might change my major...

The guy wasn't hitting anything against us and then he goes in to change his shoes and then comes out and drops 6 straight J's (5 of which were 3's) like it was nothing.

    Interesting fellow...

That's part of why so many of us like him. If you follow him day to day, game to game he will grow on you.

My blog entry if I were Arenas:

"Not only did I score 60 and get the W, but I'm also not a adultering rapist. Yay me."

And that's why, if I were an NBA player, I'd be an absolute PR nightmare for my team.

On Quite Frankly right now: I don't like Stephen A. Smith, I don't like Kobe, but the fact these two are on together is like watching ugly women mud wrestling. You just feel compelled to watch it.

First, this interview is on the level of Fox News interviewing Bush. I didn't realize Smith was gay, but he had Kobe's 'junk in a box' in his mouth the whole time. Second, the one confrontational question was Kobe's quote on Arenas. Of course, Kobe seemed surprised that it was viewed as hating. Then Smith told Kobe what Arenas said on his blog. Kobe said that was the first time he heard Arenas' response. Kobe, with sheer honesty and a deadpan face said he was actually GIVING ARENAS PROPS. 'It takes grande cajones to do what he did.'

Here's a tip to the Kobe faithful who want to buy it: anytime you use the word 'chucking' in describing a player, it's not a compliment.

Nah, actually, I think it would be more along the lines of

"Kobe is an absolutely incredible player, and I am undoubtedly one of his biggest fans. His craving for victory is unmatched, and his assessment of my shot selection just so happened to emerge from his mouth in an unfilial fashion. Kobe's skills are inimitable and once I reach that level, I can counter his assertion. Thank you for allowing me to respond."

I always vote him and Jkidd along with Tmac, Yao, and Chuck Hayes. I really respect the guy and he deserves to be a starter in the East.

After seeing this statement, instead of going for 61 pts, Kobe now is going for 82 pts.

    Hibachi!!!!

I hope Agent Zero gets more credit soon. I know he's been getting more media coverage, but given his unique personality and great game I'm surprised he's not more popular from the fans.

god i hate those types of response the worst. first he b****es about the guy, guy responds, in a mind blowingly amazing way which you know is making kobe feel a bit nuts, and then kobe acts as if he doesnt know what the big deal is and pretending theres nothing wrong in the first place.
not even man enough to follow up on his earlier b****ing. kobe might be the best player in the NBA but that doesnt mean he's not a stupid dumbasz who no one is going to miss once he's gone

So apparently, it takes "grande cojones" to do what Kobe did last season too? Jacking up shots with 3/4 defenders draped all over him.

Come on, even though he's undoubtedly the best offensive player this era, we all know Kobe can be a downright fugazy sometimes. Who's betting that he's probably playing up his surprise because it was a televised interview?

I just find it absolutely hypocritical that one of the worst chuckers in the league is criticising another for taking bad shots. And no, Kobe playing within the team so far this season does not give him a pass to say those words, not when he chucked the great Kobe-Shaq tandem to pieces, not when he chucked his team to a first-round playoff loss.

Arenas did the manly thing. He responded with class, and he minded his own business. Major respect for that.

I was going through this entire post and everyone giving props to Gil for his comments but after what Subliminal012 has just posted, my respect for him went out the window after he earnt my respect with his first responce.

Gil is just another player trying to get media attention through Kobe, he's not letting his talent do the talking, he's trying to get it through someone else. Not such a class act if you ask me.

BTW, Gilbert is also ditching the "hibatchi" term because of Kobe. His story goes on.
