That's not a valid justification - that's simply why you think Apple's decision is fine. Or is this Apple saying "we're right" and we must follow? I sure hope they're not trying to be another evil Microsoft! And again if hating receiving MMS (why, I dunno) is a peev of yours... why not have an option to turn it off if you don't want MMS messages? Because the decision has nothing to do with the user. *gasp* Say it ain't so, Apple! Another peev : half the time, when a friend sends me a "quick" pic, I get an email saying go to somestupidwebsitetolookatapicturesomeonesentme.com to view a pic someone sent me and the randomly generated password/username doesn't work for a few minutes. Wait a couple-to-several minutes and it works. Talk about klunky.
3G can be squirrely because it drains the hell out of my battery and most places I travel have weak 3G reception. It's great when it works, however, when it's not reliably available, it's worthless and I have to switch back to EDGE. I don't really like the Gmail interface, but I do have an account or two on there. Unfortunately the emails I've used for years are on Yahoo and the problem I've seen is between Apple and Yahoo's servers from what I've seen. The phone sends an email and either doesn't know it was successful or Yahoo doesn't respond reliably, so the phone throws up that it was unsuccessful sending the email. Then multiple emails are sent as a result. I've had a friend receive the same email about 7 times.
I was an early adopter and still love my 1st generation iphone but I'm still kinda ticked that I can't copy and paste since that is such a simple function. I'd also like MMS and flash support but give me cut and paste damnit.
the only thing i really want on my iphone is flash. i have the 3g but everywhere i go has freaking wireless so it's almost pointless. i've used the gps a few times and watched some youtube in the car when i was bored waiting, so 3g has been convenient, but more often then not it doesn't get used. well actually 3g saved my life from boredom when i didn't have power/internet for 2 weeks after the hurricane. it was totally worth it then. don't care about copy/paste or MMS but I agree it's stupid/silly that a phone of this magnitude doesn't have it.
Good grief, that reminds me... so I get an email saying I need to log into that dang website to view the pic someone sent me since there's no MMS. Well the username and password are in the email. How do I start up safari and type the random username/password in without writing the things down? You can't cut and paste anywhere and you can't "alt-tab".... at least not that I know of. Flash support doesn't affect me as much, but I can see how that could be a pain for some.
I still love my original iPhone. It's rock solid. I've dropped it multiple times, and it keeps on ticking. Sure, I'd love 3G data speeds and GPS, but I'm not going to upgrade until the new one drops. Plus, it's hard to give up my cheap GoPhone plan. (Contracts suck.)
