I think most people including myself knew it was over once Yao went out. I personally wasn't going to watch the game because I assumed that the Lakers would destroy us without Yao or McGrady. I must say it was a great win but it is 2-2 and this young team was home not on the road. Possibly 2 games left on the road and 1 game left at home. Are the odds really in our favor with this young team??
When I saw the first quarter 22-7 run, I was shocked. When we lead 29 in the third quarter, I was so proud. With Yao, TMac and Deke sitting in suits, we outplay the totally healthy Lakers, you cann't let me not proud.
yeah, i was coming home from work , flipped on the radio and heard 90-69. assumed the Lakers were up that big. let out a yell and about drove off the road when i realized we were ahead!!!
This victory erased any doubts I might have about the existence of a higher being. How else do you explain the kickbutt performance we witnessed today? Where was this team in Rockets uniform during the season? Did Yao's season-ending injury resuscitate the heart of champion?
This is a very gritty team and here is a thought: has there been a game in the playoffs where ALL the Rocket's players were playing their "A" game, together? I don't think so. I mean Ron is hitting threes, Brooks is AI, Landry scores 20 and dunks 2 or 3, Hayes makes all his foul shots, Battier is on fire, Wafer goes crazy, Scola has a trible double, and so on. Get my drift. This is yet to happen. When will it happen? Why not next game!
Don't talk odds to me. What are the odds that our Yao-less team comes out and punks the supposed best team in the west? Statistics don't matter now. We're running on pure emotion... like we did for 10 games last season. Just like we will for two more games this series.
Not to get off track here but, don't slam it before you see it. I'm not Indian and not Muslim, but it's a Great film. I typically hate films that win awards, but this was one (if not best) of the movies I've seen in the last 5 years.
Lakers is not that good. They underestimated us they got loss, twice. Even they play tough, they won us uglily. The team owned its Pride.
I've been saying this again and again: this year's playoffs has been a big success. The Rockets finally got past the first round, which is a HUGE mental step for this team. With the growth of our young backcourt and the huge asset that will be added next year (in the form of a 20+ million dollars contract), the Rockets will have a bright future. I'm proud to be a Houston Rockets fan.
you know what? I am truly proud of this rocketst team!!! They did a great job!!! I love battier, I love Ron Artest, I love scola, brooks, lowry, hayes, landry, I love you all!!! And I don't think Kobe deserves a champion even if he is able to. A true champion respects his opponents, and prepare himself for every second. Obviously Kobe failed to do so! FIGHT ON! GET RED!
