I'm as okay as I am about 'blowing it up' as I am about you having the word 'genius' in your username.
No, not every team need to be rebuilt from scratch, but all the championship teams are built around their picks.
What we have here gentlemen, is a Moses Malone situation. A 2 time MVP(Harden should now be '15, '17 MVP) caliber player that will be traded to go play with his buddy Paul George in a Lakers uniform. The lakers will sign Paul George straight up and we trade Harden to the Lakers for 2 of their young top picks and their #1 this summer(our Ralph). We then suck enough still, we get the #1 draft pick next year and eventually our Akeem 2.0 who will lead us to the promised land along with Julius Randle, Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball. This is the prophecy. It is known.
definitely understand that mentality but don't leave! you are one of the better posters around here who assesses things reasonably and logically. It is mind blowing that you can be labeled as an ultra homer just because you don't automatically assume rockets suck and are the worst team ever that has no chance of beating anyone. A lot of those type of posters are just very emotional and are putting up barriers of pessimism in order to protect themselves from disappointment. Everyone has different coping mechanisms, It is what it is. like @don grahamleone said.... believe lol
Technically, we've already built around Harden. Are we optimal? No, but we're a better team than last season's team and with flexibility in the trade market, we'll improve on an already good product. So, why would we want to go through multiple down years just to get back to where we are now? Realistically, we're only one or two good pieces away from a chip-worthy team.
I don't even think were any better than a 55% chance of getting out of the 1st round. I think it goes 7 games against OKC.
Why would you blow up a team with 3rd best record in the league? Its not a shame to be behind Spurs and Warriors, two excellent teams, even historically. Yeah, I dont like the foundation on which team is built (no defense) but its still better to tweak a 3rd seed than start from scratch.
And? The number times isn't relevant to your post saying hou lost to them without kd when I said they beat them with him. So hou is definitely capable to beating them and all of their games have shown that.
You win 1 game out of 10, it is not capable. You win 5,6 games out 10, it is capable. Remember you need to win 4 out of 7 games to beat them. Does this make sense for you?
That's great. Still not the point. If you've watched all the games against GS this year you would realize they are capable of winning any of those games. Does that make sense for you? Unless you're just oblivious to the actual context of the game
