I'm a bit of a Jack Of All trades
I'm not really doing what I want
I got a sociology degree but that wasn't
    what I want to do

I love to Write [Sci-Fi, rhymes etc all over the map]
WOULD LOVE TO WRITE COMIC BOOKS or MOVIES!!!

    I simply like being creative
Inventive . . Thinking of going back
to school to complete a electrical Eng degree

    [Love the knowledge]

Also looking into opening my own business

loosely translated. . . I'm all over the map
trying to settle on one thing

I just started with a multi-level marketing program, so I do not Know if I will like it or not. It has a good product that I am hooked on so maybe I can make alot of money. I used to drive an 18 wheeler all over the country, I enjoyed that, but I missed my daughters and my wife.

Wow, I've been meaning to start this topic for the longest time, but I'm glad somebody did because obviously I wasn't going to remember. [IMG]

I'm a Senior QA Analyst/WinRunner programmer... weee... I remember as a kid I wanted to be an astrophysicist. I was enamored with astronomy and physics. I was also really into becoming an archeologist and a paleontologist. I still have the urge to give up everything, and move to Africa for the hell of it. I've always wanted to visit/go there because of the wildlife and the people. I still may eventually, but right now I'm content making more money than I thought I'd ever make growing up. I grew up broke and dropped out of college after an illness in the family and noticed this up and coming thing called the "World Wide Web" back in 1993. If there's one regret in life I have it's that I went to college to be an electrical engineer.... looking back I actually wish I hadn't gone at all and just "winged it" earlier.

So am I doing what I want to do? Naaa... money isn't everything... happiness is and as I've hit 30 years of age, I've noticed they're mutually exclusive. [IMG]

Keep it up. Doing what you love is the greatest thing in the world.

Ken Griffy Sr (Jr's dad) said, "Do what you love and you'll never work another day in your life." Amen!

    Awww, Max, I'm hurt! [IMG]

I guess it all depends on what you are running for and who your opponent is but I'll keep the arena thing in mind.

I think what we "want" to do varies as our lives change...

I studied law at University and used to want to be a lawyer. I could never do corporate law...so I did a years volunteer work in a legal center. Their you see the reality that the system just doen't work for most people, doesn't protect most people...and that a hell of a lot of people have lives that make you lose any self pity of your own.

So...I gave up any aspirations in that regard and currently work for the Govt. It's okay...and it's not like it's forever (I hope!)

I just got married a month ago to the loveliest lady in the world...I am biased:) I am a damm lucky bloke. My wife is a qualified Pharmacist and was born in Thailand. She has worked for the Thai govt a lot and we plan on settling down over their in a few years and running out own pharmacy...trying to open a place that can provide us a living, as well as provide medicines etc at affordable prices for the locals.

I have spent a year living their before( working in ESL) and it was great...also, the cable tv channels rock:) Five games of nba a week. (You'll only appreciate that if you live in OZ and put up with the crap coverage we have...lol)

So...life brings with it many changes...and most of us probably end up in careers we'd never envisioned in our wildest dreams. That's one of the coolest things about life...you never know what it will bring.

I'm going to school. School being Texas A&M. I'm studying Construction Science. I had dreams when I was younger of being an FBI or DEA agent. I then realized that I would have to make a lot of sacrifices in order to persue such a career. It finally dawned on me that I would be much, much better off in the construction industry. I'm happy with my choice and I am doing what I want to do.

I always wanted to be Bugs Bunny, but then I found out that even tho I have the ears, I dont have a floppy tail. So, with my childhood dreams crushed I've decided to spend my life campaigning to get on Survivor so that one day I may dance naked on national television.
