The Texans aren't trying to win THIS YEAR--they are trying to win EVERY YEAR...for the next 100 YEARS....FOREVER!!! They are building a strong tree of winning that has deep roots and we are just at the stage where the sapling burst through the ground. be patient. we have to trim away a few strong branches to make room for stronger ones to take their place.
First of all...the Texans have been drafting well the last few years, so using the draft to build a team isn't so bad. They also have coached players up, i.e. Briesel and Meyeres. All the teams with a bunch of cap space are mostly bad teams and they will be the first at the table digging for the biggest pieces of chicken in the bucket and over-eat and they will realuze that they are stilla bad team, just fatter. Texans are waiting for all the stupid moves to pass and strike when the dust has settled.
It's 7 for sure and possible 4 more via Compensatory Picks. One of those 4 is probably going to be a 3rd rounder for losing Mario WIllias to free agency last year. The rest are projecting to be 6th rounders, maybe a 5th rounder. We won't know for sure until later, usually during the owner's meeting when picks are announced.
