    Calvin Murphy
    Akeem (yes pre-H)
    Otis Thorpe
    Robert Horry

These are the legends I have met and conversed with.
I have even attended a party at Clutch the Bears place.

I will always defend the Rockets championships from doubters, haters, and people who have incorrect information.

I will always defend the fallen Rockets.
Ralph Sampson and Vernon Maxwell haters will face an incredible onslaught of knowledge til they can't type another word.

I will always cheer for former championship Rockets cause they further legitamize the incredible talent that was on the Championship Teams.

Bulls Championship? could Paxon/BJ Armstrong/Ron Harper compare to Cassell? NEVER

Celtics? who was as clutch as Bird? ROBERT HORRY

Never any hate for Steve Francis and Cuttino, for they played with Heart.
which is what the houston Rockets are about.

I will NEVER EVER post ROCKETS LEGENDS in the NBA DISH.

I might not post a lot, but I am as true a rocket fan there is. I am 25 yrs old and been a Houston fan my whole life. My favorite player when I was 5 yrs old was Jim Peterson and remember watching Chevious, Purvis Short, World B Free and always loved watching the Rockets. While everyone was riding the Bull's nuts I always argued my case as why the Rockets were better. Enjoyed the rollercoaster ride they gave us during the championship yrs, and enjoyed watching the steve francis era, they might not have been a playoff team, but I really enjoyed the type ball they played, very entertaining. I just wish Rudy T could still run the show, cause their ain't nothing like a rocket at heart running the team. I'm ready for Yao and T-mac to take us the title again and believe it can happen. All rockets fans believe and that is why I love them so much. I have always believed that if you are from Houston then you got to back up your Houston teams cause they represent where ur from. Diehard Rockets, Texans, and Astros fan, and will be till I die. Miss ya Oilers and miss ya Astrodome. ClutchCity III here we come.

and unfortunately, we havent been able to find a person that can do the PBP since we recruited you.

rockHEAD disappeared...you are hit and miss. I miss Heath's statbot.

lets see if I fit the critieria for a *real* Rockets fan.

    1) I watch every second of every game
    2) I have been a fan of the team since the early 70's
    3) I donate my time to try to help other fans see the games by posting them here..
    4) I sit in chat and try to make sure that fans that rely on chat to keep up with the game can do so.
    5) I have multiple jerseys, and other memorabilia
    6) I dont watch or care about anny NBA team other than the Rockets.

geeez...I really wanna know...do I qualify for inclusion into this club?

All I know is that when its rockets season i will either watch, attend or listen to the pbp, every single game. i will even watch it in the chopped up cctv. i will tell me current gf at the time not to call me unless the game is over, or its halftime. I look forward to the game all day. ANd the result, win or lose, affects my mood until the next game win or lose. Yet i am also a basketball fan, becuz i can awknogledge a good game even if i am close to tears that the rockets won. I love the competition and the thrill of the rockets games. and yes I am a homer!

I should be back this fall. I got real busy last spring, I was taking EMT courses and had a lot of 24hr shifts. That, and I was watching my stros too.
    :(

I'm so back this season. :)

    :( I guess I'm chopped liver. ;)

I think all I need to say is, when we were down 40 points in the 4th of game 7 against the Mavericks, I was in the chat still telling people it wasn't over. Either I'm a real rockets fan or just an insane crackhead.

    Or possibly both.

i'll tell you why i am a rockets fan...

i live in utah, among the most r****ded and narrow minded fans in the NBA. i always hear the song "walk like a nigerian" in reference to hakeem's supposed traveling woes. i hear all the time that we only won chamionships because jordan retired. i hear, "stockton for three!" all the time.

i hear yao ming sucks. i hear tmac is injury prone and will never be the same. i hear that we traded away swift and gay for battier.

and every single time i hear any of that **** i fight! every time! and i kill them with kindness. i teach them about clutch city. i tell them about real all-stars who don't choke when the pressure is on.

i point out that while malone was the best PF of all time, he choked when it counted. jordan didn't steal the show, malone and company gave it away. thats when utah fans back off. because they know. they know their team couldn't get it done.

when it is all said and done, there are a few words that get them all to back off: TWO RINGS.

then they bow down and give it up. hakeem was amazing. and clyde wasn't bad either.

    beautiful....

TMac and Yao have both been my favorite players the moment they entered the league. To have them on the same team is a dream come true. Plus, now I get to save time...only have to watch one team. No more Orlando games for me.

No, I am not a real Rocket fan.

I enjoy reading this BBS more than watching Rox games of last season.

If you think you are a fan, you are.

    It is a personal criteria.

I have been a Rockets fan since the early 70s, before the games were on TV, I used to listen to Gene Peterson do PBP on my clock radio and chart the score as he said "Dipsy Doo" and "Bingo" so often, for some reason he rarely announced the actual score back then....so I kept it on a pad of paper next to my bed.

I remember the call against John Lucas.....in game 6 of the Eastern confernce playoffs.....and I remember being in my car in College parked in the stadium parking lot with a six pack of Dr. Pepper pointing my car in just the right direction to pick up the DENVER broadcast of a playoff game, because the Astros had pre-empted the normal broadcast.

    Fandom is great.....

Been a Rockets fan since I moved here late 1983. Started following when we got Ralph and even moreso when we got Akeem.

I agree win, lose or draw ... stuck with them. Sometimes painful but growing up in the midwest, fans there are not bandwagoners. So that's how I roll ...

Was in the Corps, during the two-ston era so never really felt the full gamut of excitement. Try showing excitement for the Rox in SoCal and see what kind of reaction you get? I didnt care they were just jealous because "we got the ring."

    Nanananana!!!

My handle on here is derivative more for my angst toward Cubastard than anyone. Mr Politiking jackass. So happy the Heat denied the Savs.

Now, with sincere push to get younger, more athletic, I honestly say I am really jacked about this season for the Rox.

Imagine Snyder doing one of those insane facials on Shawn "I'm everyone's b*tch" Bradley? Priceless.

I am convinced with a completely healthy Yao and T-Mac, plus our complimentary lineup, we're going to go places this year.

I wouldn't doubt anybody's fandom who's here a month before training camp discussing every nuance of the Rockets. If you're on BBS between the draft and preseason your a true Rockets fan in my book.

I've been known to leave work at 5, speed to Houston from Austin to catch a 7:30 game and drive back on a weekday. I actually did this 12 times during one season.

I also watched a gamecast on espn.com while on vacation of a rockets/mavs game during Yao's first season at a internet cafe in Phiuket, Thailand. I had to pay to do this when instead I could have drinking on the beach.
