    Stop being such crybabies.

I'M PISSED as well, but it's not because of some stupid "curse." It's because of our players and our coaches. There is no such thing as a curse.

    Rockets 2 Championships
EDIT: Astros - 1 National League pennant
Aeros 1 Turner Cup, 1 Calder Cup
    Houston Dynamo 2 MLS Cups
    Houston Comets 4 WNBA Championships

    So?

    Then it's coaching?

I wouldn't say cursed. They're just poorly run, poorly managed teams.

Astros - worst team in MLB
Texans - worst team in NFL
Rockets - first round exit, two straight years

Not to mention exactly 1 playoff series win post-Hakeem. That's 1 in 16 years.

Now that's just a Greek Tragedy. Jesus christ only 1 playoff series since??? Can we get rid of the whole front office? This is unacceptable.

Yikes. That's pretty damn awful - the city deserves better than that.

Compare that with what Boston's done the last few years with the Red Sox, Pats, and Bruins

Or the Bay Area with the Giants, Niners, Warriors, A's and Sharks

The astros over the last few years might one of the worst 2 or 3 franchises in the history of sports.

for as long as fans are deprived to watch the games on their favorite provider, Rockets will not win.

    hail hydra!

Oddly enough, the only team the Blazers and Rockets have beaten in a playoff series since 2000 have been each other.

Is this really that bad of a thread? Things happen. We didn't play well enough to overcome it, series is done. I am pretty sure it wasn't voodoo, just a young team not overcoming obstacles. Let's hope they learned a great deal from it.

Only major championships out of the three major sports was when the best basketball player was out for one year and wore a different number the next, so people like to put am asterisk next to it.

I think Jordan did it to the Cavs 2 years in a row. So Jordan '97 or '99 is the shot you're missing. Maybe someone can confirm?

But yeah...it's kind of surreal realizing that the Rockets were involved in 3 out of 5 of these rare shots. I mean, what are the chances??

I don't believe Houston is cursed....

but this is more than just failing to win a championship.

In hoops, it's about winning only one playoff series over the last 18 or so seasons....something matched by only a handful of teams with terrible franchise histories.

In baseball, we have made it to exactly one WS in over 50 years. We were swept. Aside from the Indians, Cubs and Mariners, I'm not sure who else has been around for the majority of that time with that much futility.

And football..in the largest city in Texas....we have not made it even made it INTO a conference championship game in the Super Bowl era...forget getting to the Super Bowl...we can't get to the game we'd have to win to even get into the Super Bowl!! And that's true of both the Texans and Oilers. That's incredible.

I think there are just a handful of other cities that have been this poorly represented by their pro sports teams to date. Cleveland has to rank as #1. Outside of Cleveland, I can make a pretty legit argument that for a town with multiple teams, Houston tops the list in futility.

For all the b****ing directed at fans here, I'd argue it's primarily a product of teams that have vastly under-performed over a very long period of time.

    The Drive.
    The Shot.
    The years of inept management.

I'm a Cleveland fan. No offense Houston, but toughen up.

Cursed? Doubt it. Unlucky? Hell yes.

When it comes to Houston: Growth, check. Economy, check. Cost of living, check. Jobs, check. Sports? Arrr-aahh... Minute Maid, BBVA, and Reliant/NRG are some of the nicest venues in the country. And the Toyota Center is centrally located to some Houston's most vibrant night life destinations.

But hey, I'll be right here again each and every season... Happy, excited, hopefull and optimistic. And based off of recent history and the odds, ultimately disappointed. Rinse and repeat. I'm just waiting for the one exception. Hopefully starting with the Texans' draft on Thursday.

The fact you went through all that doesn't make me feel one iota better about what Houston sports teams have served up for the last 50 years. Not even a little bit.

So we're not as bad as Cleveland...great...let's put that on a tshirt and have a pep rally.

This breakdown says it all. I don't think there is any question that Houston is in the bottom two cities in terms of professional sports achievements...and Cleveland is a smaller market.
