Still got Harden and Howard. NOT the end of the world.

Our team will "mostly" be the same but where do you see room for improvement if we match Parsons?

I hope that people consider the fact that turning down Parsons is a MAJOR step back, & we'd have very little hope of making a run.

With him, perhaps he's a bit overpaid, but we can at least take a stab at a title.

You go from being a 3-4 seed to being a 7-8 seed. Maybe worse with other teams improving.

Utah just stepped up & signed/kept their white guy. ;)

We must do the same! Do it.

Yeah, I mean, do other GMs really treat their players so differently?

Agreed. At this point, it would be insane to let Parsons walk especially to a division rival. Try to add a few bench guys in the next 24 hours, take your best shot with this group over the next two seasons, and then see what you can pull off in free agency in 2016 when Dwight and possibly Parsons opt out.

    According to who? Dwight Howard??

McHale is a joke in the league and Dallas (although they failed to also attain Melo) used that in their sales pitch to get him to turn away from Houston.

Coaches, media and fans throughout he league laugh at our no 'play' offense and lack of defensive structure.

While they praise their scoring its turn in cheek because we COULD have the same scoring but it would be very nice to also have at least a few set plays for backups/situational use

I have also never seen a coach who was a winner not take responsibility. McHale never takes responsibility for anything and as a leader of the team thats just disgraceful.

We want Harden to acknowledge his lack of D is a serious issue? We want Harden to acknowledge that iso ball is bad.. well he doesn't need to, he can point fingers at others and say its because this or that.. do you blame him? I don't because all he is doing is mimicking our coach

We are in pretty bad shape because:

Parsons was arguably our most "important" player last season

If we don't match, we have a GAPING hole at SF

We currently do not have a bench. At all.

    So if we don't match:
    Beverley
    Harden
    ???
    Jone
    Howard

With flexibility on signing mediocre free agents left on the market.

    If we MATCH:

Same starting lineup as last year but extremely limited capability to cobble together SOMETHING off the bench.

We could definitely be in worse shape. I think our fan base is spoiled after getting Harden/Howard, so now we expect to land big time free agents like bosh...but we didn't ...so were virtually putting the exact same team in the floor as last year..that got bounced in th first round.

Are we still an excellent team ? Sure

Are we winning any titles with this squad ? Nope

I'm willing to bet DM will pull a card from his sleeve to keep us at relatively the same level as we were last season. Obviously we'd love to see a major splash and believe me my stress levels were ridiculously high getting update after update over the past few days. But in the end we made some great long term moves and keeps us flexible to hopefully make major upgrades in the near future.

bmd we are good to go sir. Morey is working on putting a quality team around Howard, Harden and Parsons. ( We will match the offer) We will continue to groom Parsons for that 3rd Superstar role.

Yes Rockets are in bad shape.

It was by design, that Parsons contract was the worst it can be for this team to match. 2nd yr opt out? 3 year contract. Forget the $$$. It is the market. The length and trade kicker and fact that he can decline trade 1st year is a killer to swallow.

This is by far worst crap than the poison pill contract with Lin. It sucks it cost a 1st and 2nd to trade away Lin for cap room only. But that bridge was burned so Rockets needed to not strike out and it did.

Now that cap must be used by Parsons because there is nothing, no other option out there better.

No, Deng is not better, at most a lateral move. Not Ariza not better.

Rockets must use this precious cap they created, earlier than needed, and get more or it was indeed a terrible off season.

They went all in on a pair of aces. But Riley had a full house, of money and made Bosh super rich to say in Miami.

Heat will regret the day they gave Bosh this contract but that's years down the road.

Meanwhile, back at FO of Rockets they are trying to regroup but time is not on their side. Thanks to Cuban

Yeah but they can be replaced easier than Harden or Howard.

Yes we are in bad shape, because Morey is still not good at getting role players and considering hampering out future by signing freaking Ariza and maybe even match Parsons just for kicks..
