Are We REALLY a Better Team This Year Talent Wise?

Like someone said above: we better only on paper. We have yet to see the smooth offensive flow, passing, cutting, and 3pt shooting %.
Last year we live or die with 3pt % and the same to be said about this year. This is how we're build. We don't have much athleticism beside Tmac so we have to rely on inside-out offense.
Chemistry will improve as players spend more time gelling. Talent wise: only Bonzi look great so far due to his experience. He's veteran; but we still need to see more out of Scola as a scoring threat so team won't double team Yao as much; so far they'd leave Scola for open jumper. I expect Francis to play because we need to take the ball inside and finish strong once it get stagnant. Overall, we still improving and that something I hope to see.

 

If we live and die by the 3 pointer, much like last year, then our record would be 2-7 or 1-8 based on how well we have shot the 3 this year.

 

I'm repeating this since the offseason. If we needed a PG, a PF, and a third scorer to be title contenders then we can't be a better team with the same team. Or at least not so better. It is sad, but you cannot expect to beat Mavs, Suns or Spurs in a playoff series with Alston and a still immature Hayes. We can only hope in a huge improvement by Scola and in a miracle with Francis. Hate him or not, we need Francis not because is Francis but because his role is desperately needed.

 

Ummm, yeah, we're a much more talented team. It's idiotic to think that last year's team is better then this year's team. Scola and Bonzi alone makes us better then last year.

 

I agree with others that say you got to count Bonzi as an addition, since he didn't even play last year. We are a more talented team with Bonzi and James in the rotation.
