Exactly. They're too damn friendly and it makes me sick. Players will be standing side by side during crucial free throws in a 95-94 nailbiter and the next thing you know they're discussing what hand sign to use for their upcoming inDmix.com photos.
We play soft. They don't dish out hard fouls. They try to draw the charge only. If a player is penetrating to the basket, foul them hard enough to miss it. Time and time again, the opposing player gets fouled so softly by a Rocket that his shot goes in anyway.
More energy, hustle play and professionalism. People spend their time and money watching them play and they should give their heart when playing. If I was only interested in basketball as pure entertainment, I can live with mediocre basketball. But that is not the case. People demand more heart from the players. Play to win.
The only player I have seen play tough this season is SF3. He could care less about making friends with other team during the game. SF3 always gives a good hard foul.
maybe sign a joint contract with vince macmanhon so players can participate in some smack down vs raw matches
the jazz beat us in playoffs with dirty play. We at least need to foul to stop easy buckets. And Yao needs to hurt at least one pg. My choice would be to lay out devan Harris. Let's see how fast he runs after we take his legs out from under him on a layup.
The problem isn't playing too soft or clean. The Rockets effort and concentration level is too lax. There is no sense of urgency. If everyone played like each game mattered, our record would be 12-6, 13-5 or even 14-4. Our team is schizo and it's hard to predict which Rockets squad will show up.
You guys are all softies, asking for little baby elbows and love taps during the game. Real men kill people's pets before the game. Anything it takes to win, even if it means planting someone's blood at a murder scene. ya softies!
The question was: Are the Rockets playing too clean? He also mentioned something about being nice guys. I say that isn't the problem now. It's lack of intensity and urgency, which I blame on the coaching staff.
There are two question here. First whether the Rockets are too clean, second, whether the past champions played dirty to win the championship. If it did, they will need more than intensity and urgency. But to me, these two are synonymous to playing dirty. One more thing, you cannot make Tmac play with urgency, that is not the nature of his game. And worse, that influences the rest of the team, hence our tempo is always slow and look sloppy.
exactly, we need an enforcer.. steve francis or bonzi well, both scary looking, they can do all the hard and flagrant fouls. (btw, has anyone noticed? Yao Ming, as a center, has never had a flagrant foul in his career yet....what the hell is that...)
