Are we just gonna pretend Vucevic didn't just grab 29 rebounds?

I tried to trade for him a month ago, before the guy who picked him up on waivers realized what he had. Oh well.

Compare Nikola Vucevic and Omer Asik's stat lines:



Almost identical with the case that Nikola is younger.

 

1. He's actually been having a decent all around year, probably marginally better than the average starting center.

2. Not surprised by last night's performance. He's been a fairly well touted prospect in Philadelphia and was probably the incumbent starter in the next season or two in Philly.

3. He's in the perfect place to develop his game. A struggling Orlando franchise were he can afford to make mistakes and not be pushed to end of the bench. It also helps that his game is more in the style of Pekovic and "Bizarro" Gasol ... a down-low in the post bruiser with skills.

4. That 3 way deal for Philly over the summer is starting to SUCK even more now, if Vucevic becomes a slightly or well-above average center. Bynum is a ticking time bomb who with two six dollar knees. Spencer Hawes and Kwame Brown ... lol, while shifting power forwards over to play center.

 

I like Nikola and all, and the numbers are nice but, Asik is a much, much, better defender.
