Turkish military claims to have killed hundreds in Cizre in what are being called 'cleansing' operations. And get this, Kurds are accusing Turkey of cooperating with ISIS, and ISIS happens to be occupying the largest Kurdish city in Iraq - Mosul.

[rQUOTEr]Turkish 'cleansing' operation rocks southeastern cities

Explosions and gunfire resounded around the southeastern Turkish town of Cizre on Friday after a clash overnight that the army said killed six Kurdish militants and one soldier, as a security operation there entered its 11th day.

Since a two-year ceasefire between Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants and Ankara fell apart in July, the mainly Kurdish southeast has been plunged back into a three-decades-old conflict which has killed more than 40,000 people.

A helicopter clattered overhead and armored vehicles sped along a hilltop road above Cizre, near the Syrian border, as security forces pressed on with a campaign across the region involving thousands of troops, backed by tanks.

[rQUOTEr]Turkish forces kill 32 Kurdish militants as conflict escalates: sources

Security forces killed 32 Kurdish militants in Turkey's mainly Kurdish southeast at the weekend, army and security sources said on Sunday, escalating the conflict in the region.

It was one of the bloodiest weekends since the three-decades-old Kurdish insurgency resumed last July, wrecking a peace process launched by Ankara with the jailed leader of the militant Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in late 2012.

Weekend media reports said Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told a closed-door meeting of his ruling AK Party that security operations and curfews in the region would end within a week, but he said on Sunday there was no such timescale.

"We will pursue our anti-terror fight with great determination until...our mountains, plains and towns are cleansed of these killers," he said in a televised speech at the end of the meeting.

Muslims killing Muslims is not a priority for most Americans and the West in general for that matter.

Of course Erdogan has been supporting ISIS from the start. He buys their oil, they use his infrastructure, and they have a common enemy, the secular Kurds. Erdogan is as evil as they come.

RocketsLegend makes a very good point, but it should be extended to leftists in the Western world: Their feigned sympathy for Palestinians is worth nothing if they don't feel the same for the Kurds - in fact, then it shows that they are just Jew haters. It's not about helping Palestinians, it's about their hate for Israel. See: glynch - a true anti-semite from the left.

    glynch "the Jews" quotes:

glynch using the anti-semitic stereotype of the "slick Jew":

glynch siding with Hamas, a known terrorist organization that has the destruction of Israel in its charter:

glynch using Hitleresque "bloodline" arguments about who has a right to land (despite the disclaimer "not that it matters"):

And so on and so on and so on.

After living in Canada for the last five years, I can say that Canadians love the Kurds.

It might not matter so much to us now anyway. ISIS in Syria is Russia's problem now. Trump has pretty much surrendered our interests in that country. And our interest in Turkey is probably a lot more important. Of course, it looks like we're losing Turkey as an ally no matter what.

The major fight against ISIS is essentially over, and there is no need to set a fight between the Kurds and Turkey.

We should have been supporting an independent Kurdistan in the Turkey/Iraq area 20 years ago.

Incirlik Air Base was more important.
