ARE WE JUST GOING TO IGNORE THE SPECTACULAR DEFENSIVE JOB DMO DID AGAINST DIRK AND MATRIX?

He was all over the floor last night. Chandler did great while garding Dirk but DMo guarded Dirk a lot as well. I fully expected Dirk to have a 30 point game last night since he has been looking like the Dirk of old the last couple of weeks. Instead DMo constantantly pushed Dirk out of his comfort zone and forced him into off balance awkward fall away shots where Dirk had to add way too much extra arc to be effective.

His +/- last night was +31 last night
    +5 against Orlando
    + 12 against the Bucks

He is rebounding and boxing out when he does not get the rebound and now he has a legit defensive effort to hang his hat on.

It's that Ayn Rand quote he tweeted. Helped him focus

The difference between our 1st and 2nd half defense was night and day. Kudos to DMo; he was more settled on defense. He did not panic at all in the 2nd half.

It was a great game by D-mo on Dirk, though as McHale said after the game, nobody shuts down Nowitzki, but himself. So it was combination of great defensive effort by the Rockets and an off game by Dirk. Hopefully they can repeat it on Wednesday in the rematch.

    Yes

Moving DMo inside was a great choice. He is a real good post player offensively and defensively.

And his offensive rebounding. I can see his eagerness getting us a few of those every game.

I don't think Carl Herrera is going to be upset that DMO had a better defensive game and the Rockets won.

D-mo did a great job on Dirk, but to be fair, D-mo has the perfect build to bother Dirk. Dirk gets bothered by length, because he's so used to being taller than everyone else. This is a reason why McGrady bothered him. Most guys who are tall enough to bother his shot, are big and slow. D-mo is that rare combination of height and quickness.

I'm worried about how D-mo will do against strong, active 4's like Milsap, Griffin, and Z-bo.

According to Kevin McHale, Dirk stopped himself. So DMo still sucks. :)

Actually, good job by Motiejunas. Looked much better today, but the important part is not guarding Dirk or anyone else 1-on-1, which wasn't what was wrong with his D in the prior games. The important part is that he didn't get lost on pick-n-roll coverage and rotations like he did vs. MIL and ORL, thus allowing opposing bigs free runs to the basket. Much better execution of game plan vs. Dallas. Hope he keeps it up.

Of course I am upset. I was rooting for the Mavs. Cuban is such a likable guy.

I love how everything Carl Herrera says is so inadequate.

He had a superb game last night and he's only going to
get better as the season comes to an end. I can't get
over how fast he can run the floor with his height.
    He
looks for the moment to be as good as advertised!

Well, we'd pay more attention to the discussion if it didn't start in all caps, I'll say that.

DMO had dirk about to cry, it made me reconsider his potential even after his good game in O.

I was impressed, so no, we are not ignoring it.
