I saw this post and realized yes, this right here is the good fight. I had a rethink about my life and realized Garrison Mathews is trash and Danuel House is my great hope.

But then I realized people give Armoni Brooks and Garrison Matthews similar amounts of credit and mention them together a lot, so in conclusion you're a moron sir.

The neckbeard is leading the team in win shares per 48 min. Your jealousy of his facial hair clouds your judgement.

Went back and watched all of his 3 point attempts in the last 5 games. Some observations:

    1. I'll get this out first because it's worth noting--dude has a high level of irrational confidence and I like it. You can't have a scared shooter on the floor even if he was hitting 3s at a 45% clip. That being said...
    2. His sweet spot right now is the left side corner 3. He seems to have better rhythm and mechanics on that side than the right side corner 3, where he tends to turn his body into the shot more.
    3. If he can set his feet for a catch and shoot he's pretty automatic (this has been occurring more on that left side corner 3). Conversely, if he's receiving the ball off of a high screen play his shooting mechanics is wildly inconsistent. Sometimes he'll turn his body into the shot, sometimes he won't, sometimes he lets his legs flail and kick out (thereby throwing off the shooting motion), etc.
    4. For obvious reasons the offense isn't utilizing him enough in terms of getting him open. Sure a successful team shouldn't operate with the thought of running a "Let's get Garrison Mathews open" offense but a soft baseline screen from one of your big man to get Mathews open for a corner 3 would be nice.

All in all, while I still think plucking this kid from the end of the bench and suddenly playing him 20-30 minutes a night is a head scratcher I can see the positives. He's fearless when he launches those shots and I think once he settles down those inconsistent jumper/mechanics should lessen.

    He's a shooter.

    Always give greenlight to shooters.

    Especially when open.

lol did i say somewhere he shouldnt have a greenlight? because the other poster implied that too...

anyway the continued avoidance to answer my question by multiple sources, is the best confirmation i was right in claiming that he forces bad shots sometimes

    ???

Shooters shoot, how is that answer avoiding question?

I have no problem with GM taking 3's. Rather he and Snipa launch from outside than Tate, Theis or House.

GM is playing like how I expected Hurt to play.

    Another great pickup by Stone.

Brooks agrees with me. Energy is a talent. Character is a talent. Very underrated.

Garrison Mathews’ play has made a Gordon trade a certainty.
