Are we just going to ignore the play of Garrison Mathews?

We need to lock up G-Mat under contract, he is what Brooks was supposed to be.

 

Brooks just needs more time keep in mind that Mathews is a couple of years older than him. By 25 - 26 you start to look like what youre gonna be in the NBA.

But it's a moot point cuz he is already 25 yrs old its hard to see much improvement from him once he gets scouted like what happened with House.

Why not? Those guys are bonafide franchise players, in a vacuum they're good enough to be a contender's centerpiece. By your logic the only guys worth building around are Lebron, KD and Giannis.

 

Over the last 7 games when Brooks had been getting minutes and we are 6-1 he’s shot 19/48 from 3. That’s pretty much what he was supposed to be and solid production for his contract.

Mathews being incredibly good over this streak shouldn’t really diminish that. He’s been better than the expectations for Brooks IMO or someone should have paid Brooks a lot more money.

 

Im talking about him being a role player not a star. Maybe I should have reworded it lol I could have sworn I said role player.

Posted this in the X factor thread already. But Stone needs to lock Mathews up on a multi year. He needs to be here for the full rebuild. He is a culture builder like Hollins says.

 

Agree but again you have to do it piece by piece right? For example with Klay Thompson GSW decided to "build" around Klay when they rejected a Kobe trade for Klay. Even Steph is arguablly a catch and shoot shooter as well.

Just cuz you are building around a catch-and-shoot guy doesn't mean you won't get other star level players. Giannis is one example he isn't the guy you'd want making shots at end of games but the Bucks still built around him and Khris Middleton.
