Hoping he turns into a more athletic Danny Green, the Spurs version

Don't get too attached to Matthews.

According to logic of CF, he is too old to fit timeline to develop our draft picks.

Further, he plays same position as Green so would be a progress stopper. Green can't start or get enough minutes if Matthews is on roster.

Green's confidence and work ethic would erode and so he will never improve his 3ball, handles or defense.

Additionally, signing Matthews would break the bank. Need the cap space to sign some imaginary better player.

And lastly, Matthews helps team win way too many games.

    The goal is to lose.

Rockets need to tank their asses off for the next umpteenth years to amass all the YOUNG talent as possible.

U seem 2 b anti tanking. But it's seems the consensus is that the upcoming draft has a few prospects that r worth the tank. If we r shtty might as well get them before we rise.

Rather tank for Wembanyana the following draft.

Let's see what our 4 first rounders and young core can do THIS season.

This upcoming draft is good but nowhere near as deep or talented as last draft.

And winning culture has to be built as well. Without that culture it doesnt matter how talented your team or how many assets you have.

I think after we finally get the dead weight contracts off the team u can talk about winning culture or being competitive. We arent winning it all with the most expensive guy on the team sitting on the bench taking up roster/cap space

I think alot of us watching Kobe play knew. I went to watch his first game against the Rockets. I remember thinking this guy is going to be trouble! The way he approached every game watching every move reminded me of a serial killer watching their prey and learning their habbits + techniques and details.

But he needs to change his shot mechanics thats why I think he needs to come down to the Gleague first even for just a couple of games like jaygup

The last 3 games say otherwise.

I'm not saying Rockets are playoff ready.

But I'll be damned if I'm going to root for my favorite team to purposefully lose every frickin game.

If there is a true generational talent to vy for then maybe. I'm talking Dream, MJ, Timmy, Shaq or even Yao.

Not seeing that in 2022 draft.

Hope not. I want to see him and GM on the court at some point during the game. Best shooters on team.

If we r not playoff ready with this comp, there is no good reason to win meaningless games and lower our chances to getting top rookie prospects. Idk people r pretty hype for 2022 draft class

Yeah man, I want to see them playing too. I just don’t see how. That’s 10 rotation players with KPJ, Green, Mathews, Tate, Wood, Ego, House, Sengun, KMJ, Brooks. Not including DJ

Yeah, they have to move some people. This roster is unsustainable. We need to cut some of those fools loose ASAP.

There are plenty of players who can do what Ryan Anderson was supposed to do and more. We just gave him 80M to do that one thing and had to give up tons of assets to get rid of him.

    5 minutes played

    2 points

    2 TOs

By the way - EVERYONE loves playing with a guy like Mathews, an ALL HUSTLE, knock down shots, and just get about your business - a complete TEAM FIRST GUY - same for Tate.....

Players gravitate towards those guys because they know they only care about winning and they inspire others.

We are lucky to have both.
