and Kawhi Leonard if Morey didn't pick Morris over him... and Dragic if we didn't let him walk for bum Lin. Dragic/Smith Harden/Thornton Leonard/Ariza/Putney Dmo/Harrell/Dekker Whiteside/Capela
Yeah it doesn't work like that. These aren't trading cards. Dragic's contract already ended, for example.
Which is exactly what I said.We paid Lin over Dragic. We were looking for a "star" PG when we had one sitting infront of our faces. do you not remember this situation?
That was a contract ago. He opted out and signed with Miami this past summer. It's very likely that he was a lock to sign with us, back then, if Morey would have given him that player option. I'm not going to argue against that...but you can't use the logic from then, to assume he would have been a lock again to opt in or re-sign here this past summer. You'd be ignoring the last 3 years he would have had as a Rocket and the impact that would have on his decision. We don't know if those would have been three good years for him.
[rquoter]Hawks Held Up Dennis Schroder To 76ers Trade Due To Ish Smith The Sixers offered Smith, shooting guard Nik Stauskas, and a protected first-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks for point guard Dennis Schroder at the Feb. 18 trade deadline, according to sources. The uncertainty surrounding the re-signing of Smith this summer was a holdup for the Hawks, according to one source. Smith, whose stock has risen, is expected to have plenty of suitors when he becomes a free agent. Perhaps that's why the Sixers tried to ship him to Atlanta. Sources have said the team is interested in drafting Providence point guard Kris Dunn in June, assuming the draft pick they get calls for that. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports...stay_with_Sixers__but_he_ll_have_options.html[/rquoter]
