Go back to phoenix and post your dream there. There are not many good low post scorers in the league, hence i do not think a backup for Yao is that important. I would go for a player who would get 15-20 points everynight. Dunleavy or Granger anyone? He plays as well as anyone this season. Pipe dream- jason kidd without letting go Tmac and yao.
here is a trade that works but only if new jersey is just trying to cut money off payroll this year plus mike james comes off books the following year This Trade Succeeded! i didn't call les cheap. if you were the owner it would be a tough choice for you too. teams that finish the season under the LT get $2.5M from the league as a "thank you" for sticking to the rules. teams over the cap pay dollar for dollar. so snyder is costing the team $4M instead of his $2M contract. moving him, and being under the LT means saving 4$M and earning another $2.5M for a total of $6.5 more in the bank. that's a lot of money for anyone to throw away, even les. now if the rockets get miller for bonzi, snyder, and steve, les would basically be signing off on that $6.5M. the question is then: will miller make that big of a difference? i think the rockets will make the playoffs with or without him. i also think they will probably be out of the first round with or without him thanks to poor playoff seeding. so i say again... tough choice for the owner.
holy crap!!! that is awesome. why hasen't anybody else thought of that? we can just dump all our scrubs on new jersey for jason richardson!
But what if the Rockets waive a player like Steve Francis. Would that still count against the cap.....just curious.
The only way we could trade for Mike Miller, is if we give them Scola. They are looking for younger talent and expiring contracts. Our only expirings are Snyder and Wells, which is only half way there ... The bottom line, is we don't have enough expiring contracts to give them, without giving up Scola. So, is Miller worth giving up Scola/Wells/Snyder? I think I'd rather see us go after Andre Miller or Kidd ... an upgrade over Alston ... maybe Hinrich or Gordon somehow ... even Cassell. ... but to make a trade for someone of starting caliber, we'll have to lose one or two of our rookies, and maybe draft picks, IMHO. You have to give something to get something, and as much as I love our rookies, the fact we love our rookies is the very reason someone else might make a trade for them. Otherwise, we don't stand a chance to make a trade for a starter.
lol, maybe not.... but he IS the one standing up the most and yelling the most on the bench in every game... anything you have against the old fella?
If the Rockets aren't, the Jazz might be looking to improve their roster again. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...idd_throws_nets_under_bus_in_sear.html?page=0
seeing how lakers got gasol virtually close to nothing. some of us may think if Les were willing to open up his wallet, we could of offer better pieces for gasol then the lakers. Mem was looking to dump salary and get some picks and young players back, but most importantly just to dump salary seeing how mem got the job done, Nets maybe given a second thought on their demand for kidd. However, if wizards willing part with arena, he may be the biggest prize out there. bottomline, we need a pg that can compete with the likes of Nash, parker, williams, CP, and harris/Jet. if we don't have that, forgot about second round or even making to the playoffs. brooks is not there yet, but can we afford to wait? Tmac has two yrs left on his contract and Yao is entering his prime.
I would never trade Shane Battier for Mike Miller....I think we are fine, we just need to work on our chemistry....Shane is team defense and the the Rockets are lacking in that department. The Rockets have to work on they individualistic personnel....Why is Yao horrible on the pick and roll defense....? Why is T-Mac settling for too many jump shots....? Why is Rafer Alston jacking up more shots than superior players and waving people off.....? The Rockets as a team are fine....just because the Lakers upgraded doesn't mean we have to blow up our team.....we need to work on our offensive and defensive chemistry.....On paper in 1995 Orlando Magic had the best talent ......Who won the championship?? The Rockets with superior chemistry!
Trade Mike James, Kirk Snyder & Carl Landry for Thabo Sefolosha, Viktor Khryapa, Joe Smith and 2nd Rounder Why Houston does it: Houston gets to unload MJ's contract, gain a Doug-Christie-esque player in Thabo Sefolosha and Joe Smith can do everything that Carl Landry can do for the short-term. Landry's contract expires after this season and I doubt Houston will match Landry's market value with Scola and Hayes seemingly on-board long term. Why Chicago does it: Kirk Hinrich, Ben Gordon and Mike James should create hell on for the other team on the perimeter but Landry is the real meat of the package. Landry is a long-term scoring solution for the energetic Chicago front court. PG: Rafer Alston | Aaron Brooks | Luther Head SG: Tracy McGrady | Thabo Sefolosha | Steve Francis SF: Shane Battier | Bonzi Wells | Viktor Khryapa PF: Louis Scola | Chuck Hayes | Steve Novak CN: Yao Ming | Joe Smith | Dikembe Mutombo Bonzi Wells, Viktor Khryapa and Deke expire. Francis will probably be waived in the offseason; we'll bring over Lior Eliyahu; and hopefully draft players like Brandon Rush and Andrew Ogilvy in the first round; Josh Shipp and Taj Gibson in the second round. PG: Kirk Hinrich | Mike James | Chris Duhon SG: Ben Gordon | Kirk Snyder | Adrian Griffin SF: Luol Deng | Andres Nocioni PF: Carl Landry | Tyrus Thomas CN: Ben Wallace | Joakim Noah | Aaron Gray Snyder and Duhon expire at the end of the season. Chicago can SNT Ben Gordon and Ben Wallace for a legit superstar like Gilbert Arenas.
From what I have observed I would think that Carl Landry must now be considered as untouchable. As he is a very solid building block for the Rockets. We need a Playmaker Point Guard more than anything and also another Big Man. I would not be afraid to trade Alston, Battier, Novac, Francis, Wells, James and Mutombo to gain the correct building blocks- No quick fix merchants please! We should be setting our sights on the likes of Andre Miller,Ron Artest, Mike Miller,Foster or Darko. We need players for are efficient and ones that know what they are doing and why they are doing it!!
Morey better tries to upgrade the Rockets. Rumors have the Jazz are interested in Jeff Foster and the Nuggets are trying to get Ron Artest with Kleiza & Najera.
