he obviously doesnt show enough to merit time on the floor. we need people that can contribute now, not 5 years from now.
Well, you see, this is how it works: The players who are really good tend to get more minutes. If someone is averaging "a whopping 3.4 mins a game," it's because he isn't deserving of more time. You don't see other high 1st rounders from last year, like LeBron, Carmelo, Bosh, Wade, Kaman, Hinrich, Ford, etc. stuck down at the end of their benches.
Are you serious?! Darko is a talented ball player, the Pistons have said they are impressed with what he does in practice. A second pick in the first round should get minutes and deserves to get minutes. If Darko was on any other team he would get at least 15-20 minutes a game. I have no clue why Detroit isn't allowing him to at least show them what he has in a game situation.
So who do we trade for him? Surely not someone who's already proven himself capable of contributing at this level. I wouldn't trade any of our starters, or Taylor or Cato. These guys are already proven commodities, not just potential. That leaves either one of our other young, unproven guys, or a veteran who we already know is a career bench player. Would Detroit take Boki or Piatkowski in exchange for Darko? Somehow I doubt it.
Pretty sure Indiana hasn't regretted trading their proven player for Jermaine and his unproven potential. Darko won't be traded anyway, so this is all just a hypothetical game.
Larry Brown doesn't give rookies much PT Darko works very hard at practices but Brown wont really give him the chance to show that. He is a star in the making...
