Totally agree. PG is our only weak point, really weak.

Well only a few people answered the main question which was does anyone think we should be prepared for another roster move this offseason. Or is this the roster we are going to see going into the season. I for one think Cd is working on something but whether it will go through or not by training camp is unknown.

You know, if so many people on this board are aware that we need a real PG to help us, I'll bet JVG knows it too. I am almost positive he knows more about basketball than most of us. I'll bet he and CD are scouring the countryside even as we speak. I would love to have a starting quality 3 to backup TMac but I think we'll need that PG more.

You know that happens alot in these threads. People mistake them for soapboxes or pep rallies.

Very well organized. The way I see it, we had 4 problems going into this offseason:

    1. We needed a quality pf that could run, defend, and block shots.
    2. We needed to get younger taller, and more athletic at the sg position,
    3. we needed a pg who could run, play defense, and not turn the ball over, perhaps even get the ball down low to Yao.
    4. and we needed a sf who could take some pressure off of T-Mac.

We got the power forward that we needed. We got a little younger, a little taller, and a lot more athletic at the 2 with Head and Anderson. We didn't really address our pg issue, hoping that the extra depth in the backcourt would give James and Sura more time to focus solely on the 1. We didn't really address our backup sf issue, so we made sure that Bowen came back to play that role again.

I'd say that we addressed the 2 most important problems with our team last year. No team can address all of thier problems in one offseason. Therefore, I give us a B+ for an offseason grade; hence I am satisfied.

We are NOT finished with roster tweaking yet, but must wait until training camp to get a better feel for what and if changes need priority. We can also find out who is available from elsewhere at that time to help most. I'd guess we are 85% there, possibly higher, but wouldn't rule out one more 'big' surprise.

Off season transactions so far has been about as good as they can get - all things considered. Per dollar use vs. dollar spent, we're probably #1 in that department.

We WILL be a better team. Championship? Maybe not that much better but nothing is out-of-reach. I'll be ready for that one more sleigh-of-hand roster move when it comes. At least the personnel moves this summer seem to be more of an intelligent nature than the impulsive past.

On another note: Does anybody really think Minnesota is licking their chops over the Griffin resigning? How about Dallas loosing Finley? Even reflecting on the East - is Miami, Cleveland, or NJ Nets the big off-season winners? I think not but should we that far.....I like to dream.

I am not worried about the PG spot. DA like Sura is really a combo guard who can play the 1 if needed. If Sura is out, DA gets most of his minutes at the 1 in sharing the load with James, which is the only way Wesley and Barry get as many minutes as they will like at the 2.

We should be able to sustain one injury among Sura, Wesley, Anderson, James and Barry and not really miss a beat. Also remember Head might be able to play spot minutes.

Consider last year at one point we had Lue, Ward, Barret and/or Strickland as options. We know have three guys (James, DA, Sura) and maybe four (+ Head) who play better points than any of those guys. As long as two of the first group stay healthy we are covered.

Of course we will look for clear cut advantagous roster moves, but unless one falls into our lap I think out roster is set. We have lots of expiring contracts to use before the deadline if there is obvious needs (Wesley or Barry have lost it, Sura is broken, James or DA just not working out) and where teams with lost seasons are looking to dump good veterans for cheap.

As long as we have that humongus glut at the 2 spot, I am not gonna feel satisfied. I have a feeling we have one more move left, and I really hope its a 3 for one deal for a legit PG
