no All-Star is signing in Houston to play with a team fresh off a tank job

also, next offseason’s free agent class is trash

the fact that we lost our defensive anchor / paint protector before the season even started
and traded/acqauired 2 washed upl players
    are clear giveaways

Of course we are. It's not even vague either we're obviously tanking. Wood is the only player I see possibly still being on the roster in 3 years. Everyone else is trade or drop bait.

    It's exactly this.

    1) People say tank!
A)Even if we are one of the four worst teams in the NBA, the odds are only 52% that the pick lands in the protected area. Imagine being the worst team in the NBA and having to swap Pick #5 with the Thunder's 20th Pick (via Miami). Those are the kind of risks you cannot take. It's literally franchise crippling to kill morale for no reason.

    2) people say free agents will come!
    A) no they won't
    b) we have the best free agent on our team already (Oladipo) (Kawhi will re-sign).

    3) People say look how bad they are right now!
    A) this isn't NBA 2k, teams take time to gel. Having a malcontent superstar being a complete distraction killed this team's chances of early success.
    B) the team still has yet to play together. Give it two months. re-assess then.

Tilman Era: When you suck so bad at completing that you can’t distinguish it from tanking.

Yes of course we are tanking. Let’s go insane on picks, no matter where in the first round. Tucker for any first rounder, Oladipo for best pick available.

Wood in a year for best pick available unless he averages an efficient 20/10/2 with good defense and 3pt shooting. That’s definitely worth keeping at his salary.

Keep Gordon and Wall for a year and let them SHOOT. Let Tate keep shooting from the corner till his % and value goes up.

The Rockets also brought in Oladipo. If they were 100% set on tanking they wouldn't have traded for him.

Also, Nwaba starts because he is a very good defender.

The questionable substitutions by Silas have nothing to do with tanking, Silas is just making questionable decisions.

Need to tank. Who cares if OKC gets that pick? Who actually cares? They have a boat load of picks already and Sam Presti is a drafting wizard. You NEED TO TANK. 52% is good enough. Look at the Nets deal.

I hope so. There's no point in trying to win games right now. The West is stacked, the East is top heavy. The Rockets can't win it all so wins are meaningless.

so basically 20-25 teams should lose on purpose because they cant win it all?
we have 3 allstar type level players on the roster, and if this is the year to tank then its always a good time to tank just to get a wiggins type player LOL...ABSURD

Easy to move him if they dont fall in love or just walk away entirely. Tillman still wins. Trade him to a contender at the deadline and get back another late 1st. Keep adding them up and maybe get a chance to move up again in this draft. If he walks then you open up a bunch of cap room.

Nobody wants to be out in the open about it, but its really the ONLY thing the team can control as bad as it sounds - to intentionally lose in order to win at a later date. Now that's just the perceived impact - this team may not be good enough to compete without making conveniently bad decisions, but this season is over. Fans have already checked out so just go all the way with it.

If this team could back into a Cade Cunningham PLUS Jalen Johnson or Scottie Barnes then its suddenly such a happier place around here and there is HOPE.

I'm sorry but Victor Oladipo as good a player as he is - doesn't inspire me enough for a max level extension. Build it from the ground up. You have Wood. Team should probably get rid of Wall too if they can. Draft smart in consecutive years and you have a chance at a dynasty. This year alone could set that up beautifully. Getting thrashed in the first round of the extended format doesn't do anything for me.

I already have a tons of hope and being pretty happy
as for fans in general they were never ever happy not even in Harden era.... the best testimony to this is TC(Theater Crowd) , it was THE most pathetic Home Crowd in NBA
